In a shocking development Thursday evening, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) triggered a rarely used procedural option informally called the “nuclear option” to change the Senate rules.

The surprise move stunned Republicans, who did not expect Reid to bring heavy artillery to what had been a humdrum knife fight over amendments to China currency legislation.

Obama has a history of circumventing lawful process of legislation. Maybe he thinks he's still in the Senate and been granted extraordinary powers?

Nothing the Senate will pass will make it through the House if its damaging to the country. This is a lame duck Senate and Pres.

Reid is looking for headlines that he "Nuked the opposition in his own house" ... the only problem with that is that the opposition runs deeper then his chamber.

They had their turn with the keys to the kingdom, not its all down hill for the Dems. Using the Nuke option to try to protect the Dems that are up for reelection .... Really? ... They, like the Pres have already lost the election ... wasted actions of a dying party
