At least now you're admitting you don't what bill it was tacked onto.

You came in here parading around the NDAA bill.

Another fail for you! :lol::lol:
You asked "What BILL number were Senators supposed to be voting on?

Could some one answer this? Any one?'

I gave you the tools. Obviously you didn't use them.
You didn't give me shit.

I knew what bill it was. YOU didn't.

Your answer was this:

You somehow stupidly thought it was the NDAA bill. Forget the fact you didn't get the bill right, you didn't even get the right DAY.

You were off by a thousand miles.

That's not "tools." That's a blind bat banging into a wall.

Have you figgered it out there, sugar?

Ummm, another fail for you!
You're good at failing, sugar.

I gave you tools that time out because info is updated.
Which is why I posted ".... now it's up to you to do the work.
It would be helpful if you read what the bill was about to begin with.

Now you claim to know what the bill was (yet you asked for the#) so get busy and post it!

What in the hell???? You're not even making sense.

Have you even read this thread?

My god, talking about dim. I did. And gave a lot more details.

We'll soon know the truth as to why Reid objected.

We'll soon know--:badgrin: Reid has not-- nor will not bring this absurd proposal to the floor for a vote--because he knows it a waste of time and effort--Da Duh!

Democrats have spent the last 4 years trying to prop up Obama and get him reelected--they have absolutely nothing to lose now. Obama won reelection--he won't have a 3rd term--and they don't feel they need to lick his heels anymore.

That was more than obvious yesterday in a senate vote when they had a 98-0 vote to give the military 631 billion dollars and call for the exist of Afganistan sooner. Obama said he would veto that bill--- So the FIRST bi-partisan bill to come out of the Senate--Obama threatens to veto.
Senate passes $631 billion defense bill - The Denver Post

IOW--Obama's wishes are being ignored by the Democrat lead senate.

I wouldn't be to sure about that. Seems Dems in both Houses are seeking to change the Constitution as I type in trying to allow Maobama a third term and more. I don't think the PEOPLE will stand for it. But let's see how much more Maobama Communizes this country in the next four years. Imagine Presidente Maobama presidente and Generalissim of the United Socialist States of America.

Wow, your reading skills SUCK, Windbag.

My reading skills suck?

On Thursday morning McConnell had made a motion for the vote on legislation that would let the president extend the country's borrowing limit on his own. Congress would then have the option to disapprove such hikes, in a fashion similar to one that McConnell first suggested during last year's standoff over the debt ceiling.
You see anything in there about the tax hikes and the stimulus? This looks like he is revising a stupid proposal McConnell made last year, not the one he made yesterday.

You are wrong. Reid was asking for an immediate vote on McConnell's request. McConnell then jumped up and filibustered his own request.

Classic!

Yesterday, McConnell asked for an immediate vote to give Obama unilateral authority to raise the debt ceiling on his own. McConnell was guessing that the Democrats would not go for it.

He failed. Today, Reid called his bluff and then it turns out it was McConnell who was caught with his dick in his hands.

He filibustered his own proposal.

Hoisted by his own petard.

.

Sorry, ed already posted a link where it clearly stated that what Reid called for was a vote on an old proposal to give the president control of the debt ceiling, not Obama's proposal. Feel free to keep deluding yourself into thinking you are smarter than the average tulip, just don't expect the universe to pay any attention.

Debt Ceiling Bluff Called By Harry Reid, Leaving Mitch McConnell To Filibuster Himself

WASHINGTON -- A move to embarrass Democrats backfired on Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell Thursday as the Kentucky Republican proposed a vote on raising the nation's debt ceiling -- then filibustered it when the Democrats tried to take him up on the offer.

On Thursday morning McConnell had made a motion for the vote on legislation that would let the president extend the country's borrowing limit on his own. Congress would then have the option to disapprove such hikes, in a fashion similar to one that McConnell first suggested during last year's standoff over the debt ceiling.

The minority leader apparently did not think Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) would take him up on his offer, which would have allowed McConnell to portray President Barack Obama's desire for such authority as something even Democrats opposed.
Reid objected at first, but told McConnell he thought it might be a good idea. After Senate staff reviewed the proposal, Reid came back to the floor and proposed a straight up-or-down vote on the idea.

McConnell was forced to say no.

what does this have to do with your earlier point? :eusa_eh:

Very sensible statement from McConnell:

“Look: the only way we ever cut spending around here is by using the debate over the debt limit to do it. Now the President wants to remove that spur to cut altogether. It gets in the way of his spending plans.

“I assure you: it’s not going to happen. The American people want Washington to get spending under control. And the debt limit is the best tool we have to make the President take that demand seriously.

“The American people want us to fight to cut spending. It’s a fight they deserve. We’re happy to have it.”

Mitch McConnell Filibusters His Own Bill To Avoid Debt Default | TPMDC :clap2::laugh2:

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) wanted to prove on Thursday that Democrats don’t have the votes to weaken Congress’ authority on the debt limit. Instead they called his bluff, and he ended up filibustering his own bill.

The legislation, modeled on a proposal McConnell offered last year as a “last-choice option” to avert a U.S. debt default, would permit the president to unilaterally lift the debt ceiling unless Congress mustered a two-thirds majority to stop him. President Obama has championed the idea.

McConnell brought up the legislation Thursday morning. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) initially objected, seemingly proving the Republican leader’s point that it cannot pass the Senate. But then Reid ran it by his members and, in the afternoon, agreed to hold that same vote. This time it was McConnell who objected.

“The Republican leader objects to his own idea,” Reid declared on the floor. “So I guess we have a filibuster of his own bill.”

McConnell claimed he never agreed to hold a simple majority vote on the bill.

“What we’re talking about here is a perpetual debt ceiling grant in effect to the president. Matters of this level of controversy always require 60 votes,” the GOP leader said.

PJ, you're clueless of what you're talking about. People like you don't understand just how much our capitalist system has done for our civilization.

China is learning the greatness of it right now. Too fucking bad we have trash like you voting.

Actually you both are wrong, McConnell brought it up in the morning, Reid initially objected. Then later on after discussing it with democrats called for a vote and then McConnell objected.

If Matthew says it, then you know it's BS

Can we really spend trillions of dollars growing the lower class? Can we afford it. Prove to me how this won't collapse this nation like Greece.

Prove to me how it's beneficial to the economy and the country to let millions of poor people, veterans, seniors and anyone who has already paid into the system, fall through the safety net.

You can't.
