State regulators on Friday closed a bank in Illinois, bringing the nationwide tally of bank failures up to 13 for the year.

Chicago-based New City Bank was closed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. said it was unable to find another financial institution to take over the failed bank, Illinois' second this year.
