Stupid Teabaggers

First of all, this is nothing but an accusation that has been made, and we haven't a clue what's actually going on yet.

Second, why do people assume that just because one person makes a passing, generalized comment (in this case Reid) it must be held by every single person of the Democratic persuasion, and to the exact same degree?

Be serious.

"WASHINGTON -- You hardly ever hear about them but they're one of the most powerful groups in Washington, D.C.

And they're costing the economy nearly $2 trillion a year.

They're federal regulators and they're putting new regulations on everything, from business products to the financial industry to items in your home.

Critics like Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas, say America is so over-regulated now that it threatens to kill almost 11.5 million jobs in the private sector.

One example: vehicle manufacturers report regulations requiring new mileage and emissions standards will cost them almost $11 billion every year.

"And they're passing that cost down to their consumers, which will add up to about $1,000 more per car, if not more," said Audrey Jones, assistant director of broadcast services at the Heritage Foundation. "

So you couldn't dispute the facts?

I figured....

And how does that equate to "job killing"? The regulations aren't making them produce less cars, which means that they aren't reducing the amount of work that needs to be done. You said yourself, the cost is being passed on to the consumers. Not being offset by labor reductions.

How would you explain what Obama MEANT when he said..

Obama also said that he was instructing his staff to move forward on job-creating initiatives without congressional approval where possible.
The White House announced steps to speed environmental and other regulatory approvals for 14 public works projects across the country."

So IF Obama HAD to instruct his staff to speed up what....???
"environmental"???
WHY unless "environmental and regulatory approvals where slowing or halting job creation!

She cited one industry.

But regardless......ya think most Americans can afford to abosrb the increase in costs that are passed on?
Likely not.
So what will happen?
Sales will dip....and COSTS are still higher....and inventoryt will increase
And what does that usually result in?
Layoffs.

Jeez....you really need leanr to think out of the box if you want to debate.

If the cost goes up $1000, does that suggest fewer buyers or more in the market?

Take your time.....

That suggests nothing because it is a nothing amount. Come back with facts.

Show facts, not quotes.

Operatring costs go up. prices go up. Prices go up, demand goes down. Demand drops, prices drop accordingly to meet demand.

So now we have operating costs up and no change in prices.

What does that usually result in?

Layoffs...

Unless you beleive that business owners are not greedy and evil and, instead, will let the increase in operating costs eat away at their profits.

But you dont believe that...and neither does the current administration.

So all in all, this administration is allowing regulations affect the job market....ACCORDING TO THEIR IDEOLOGY.

Former NYSenator James Buckley spoke at the Heritage Foundation, and these insights of his should be involved in this discussion:

Consider, by example, Title 42 of the US Code: Laws dealing with public health and welfare. United States Code: Title 42,TITLE 42—THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND WELFARE | LII / Legal Information Institute Today, this federal law is 1700 pages more than it was prior to the New Deal. The reason is the creation of more and more bureaus and agencies endowed with ever broader responsibilities and discretion in defining the rules that govern our activities and our lives. And these rules have the full force of law! Congress has increased the number of rules whose infractions are criminalized, waiving the common law requirement that one knows he is breaking the law. Today, one can be jailed for violating a regulation that one had no reason to know even existed!

a. While the officials in these agencies are generally good people, they become focused on their particular portfolio of duties, that, often, they cannot see the consequences on other parts of society. Put this together with human nature, and one can see bullying, and misuse of power, especially when these individuals are immune to penalty, and supported by free and extensive legal representation: they have sovereign immunity in their positions.

b. A remedy would be the ability of citizens to sue the federal government to protect their legitimate interests, for damages. While currently unconstitutional, the Congress can waive sovereign immunity.

c. Such a congressional waiver would not only protect the citizenry, but would go far toward defining the limits of federal authority.

d. While not unconstitutional, regulation may be considered extra-constitutional. There may be some point where it is considered to be an unconstitutional delegation of legislative authority to an agency or bureau. Under Obamacare, or Dodd-Frank Reform we see legislation where regulators have not yet determined what the regulation should be…how can Congress allow a law without knowing what the impact will be?

I believe in facts,w hich you have not posted. Your IDEOLOGY would have inflation costs us X amount of jobs each year, but no one is saying that. What is the figure of increase to start job loss, according to your IDEOLOGY?

You have no facts. Produce that, we can talk sensibly.
