Someone should have limited "2" to a "tremendous demand by Africans for European [manufactured] goods", primarily firearms.

Somone should have realized that European kings were as willing as "African kings to use people as currency" for imperial power.

Someone is unbalanced in describing the relationship of Europe to Africa.

Jakey, you are really out of it. There were some Muslim converts in the Southern Sahara regions at that time, still hundreds of miles from the coastal areas where the slaves originated, and I doubt many of even those were literate.

If you are trying to imply, as you seem to be, the enslaved would have arrived with Islam as their religion rather than the animists they largely were. Voodoo, for example, is based on religions brought to the new world. Anything approaching Voodoo would have certainly been heresy to Islam. They also would have brought with them an alphabet based on Arabic and shown the ability to to write their own language.

That is categorically one of the most feeble attempts at self-righteous pedantry I've seen in a long time. You are way out of your league on this and in seriously no position academically or otherwise to question the education of others. But I suppose the irony will be lost on you.

You need an elementary knowledge of both History and geography there shorty. I suspect you are a product of one of those pathetic institutions of elementary US public education.

First, you are confabulating Muslim and indigenous black culture as if they were the same thing when they were not. Caucasian muslims brought their culture to Sub Saharan Africa where they established trade routes and built commercial centers to exploit the continent’s wealth, particularly gold and slaves. They segregated themselves in walled cities with mosques and kept indigenes out. They converted some natives but even by the time of European incursion the vast majority of Africans were still primitive and animistic.

Civilization did not exist in Africa before Caucasians introduced aspects of it in some locations. You won’t learn that from politically correct college texts, which is probably why you, like most Americans, are so tragically misinformed.
