This is a sports-media socialism-paranoia parody inspired by Children of the Revolution.

It (sarcastically) references the 'Cincinnati Reds' (MLB) and the 'New England Patriots' (NFL) as 'democracy-propaganda tools' for this 'new age' of media and commerce.

Signing off,

The Cincinnati Reds are a storied franchise which has featured great players such as Ken Griffey, Pete Rose, and Barry Larkin. The Reds boast 5 World Series titles, the last one coming in 1990, when they swept the Oakland Athletics 4-0, and Larkin was named MVP! The team-name 'Reds' should not be confused with any connotation regarding Communism/Socialism (since the colloquial term 'reds' may refer to the very generic 'union of communists' --- the USSR flag was, after all, red in color as was the general 'spirit-colors' of the Bolshevik Revolution!). Yes, Americans love the Cincinnati Reds...

The dominating New England Patriots, led by Goliath-like QB Tom Brady and steadfast and fortunate coach Mike Belichick are the undoubted 'Super Bowl Team of the New Millennium,' having won a whopping 5(!) Vince Lombardi trophies since 2000! Brady's Patriots are considered nearly-invincible, and when they get on a hot streak despite lulls or dips in the regular season, almost every sports-writer says something like, "Looks like the Patriots are the Super Bowl favorites!" This invincibility 'aura' came arguably after the Patriots won their 3rd Super Bowl in just 5 years --- in 2001, 2003, and 2004. In that 2004 Super Bowl, Brady's Patriots defeated the well-coached (Pete Carroll) Seattle Seahawks 28-24. Carroll left a strong USC college football program to coach Seattle in the NFL, and Belichick handed him a goose-egg! The Patriots have become synonymous with 'patriotic fervor' (as their team name suggests!) and are therefore a very handsome 'American showcase.'

As Lord Dictator of the New Americas, I, the Phantasm vow to maintain the integrity of pride linked to the proud histories of the Cincinnati Reds (MLB) and the New England Patriots (NFL). These two teams will be considered 'propaganda-flags' for the New Americas (USA, Mexico, and Canada), since they symbolize patriotic spirit (e.g., Tom Brady) and communism expulsion (e.g., Pete Rose). The Reds and the Patriots are not to be considered (in any way) opposites, even though their team-names are obviously diametrically polar(!) --- 'reds' refers to Communist groups, and 'patriots' refers to democracy-cheerleading unions. The Reds and the Patriots are the flag-bearers of the New Americas and as such are 'immune' from any criticism and sarcasm towards my policies or the policies of my new Administration --- known as Hydra.

My only nemesis in this 'new world' is of course Captain America (a rogue vigilante crusader who holds on to his idealistic and fancy notions about democracy 'pockets' created by individualistic spirit and small-town enterprise/business!) who insists that other MLB teams such as the Oakland Athletics (e.g., Jose Canseco) and other NFL teams such as the Philadelphia Eagles (e.g., Buddy Ryan and Randall Cunningham) should be 'considered' as rivals and 'challengers' in the field of 'democratic debate' regarding the superiority of teams in American professional sports. I defy Captain America's 'idealism' in the New Americas, as your Lord Dictator, since, of course, the best way to promote the superiority of capitalism in this new world is to establish undoubted team achievements...
