Do you believe it's possible? Can someone who is evil change their ways? Can we overcome past mistakes?

I don't believe people are evil, but their actions can be. I'm not convinced that everyone can change...child molesters would be an example.

If one is 'evil' then its no mistake, their actions I mean.

So past mistakes can be forgiven, and people change... but evil is a different story in my view.

Evil actions usually have unchangeable results... death and destruction.

Yes, people are redeemable, but they have to redeem themselves. We have the ability to change our character for the better- it's just very difficult to do and requires clarity of thought and determination.
