That's the name of a new report out from the Heritage Foundation concerning the growth of new regulations under the Obama admin. In 2011 alone, we've seen 32 new major regulations created at a total cost of 10 billion annually. And quite a lotmore coming soon from the Dodd-Frank bill and ObamaCare. True, we've seen a modest uptick in recent months, but will it last as this president continues to burden businesses, particularly samll businesses with greater cost burdens.

The abstract:

Abstract: During the first three years of the Obama Administration, 106 new major federal regulations added more than $46 billion per year in new costs for Americans. This is almost four times the number—and more than five times the cost—of the major regulations issued by George W. Bush during his first three years. Hundreds more regulations are winding through the rulemaking pipeline as a consequence of the Dodd–Frank financial-regulation law, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, and the Environmental Protection Agency’s global warming crusade, threatening to further weaken an anemic economy and job creation. Congress must increase scrutiny of regulations—existing and new. Reforms should include requiring congressional approval of major rules and mandatory sunset clauses for major regulations.

Red Tape Rising: Obama-Era Regulations

We have an out of control federal government... and both parties are responsible.

If you forced me to, I'd have to agree with that, although I will say that the current administration is speeding up the process considerably.

And I would not argue with that. But.... I'm not prepared to let the previous administration off the hook... or, frankly, the one before that... this has been coming for decades. All Obama has done is try and jam as much of his into 4 years, probably because the economy is so bad that he figured out quite early on that he was gonna struggle to get a second term.
