And the mistake was fixed fairly quickly. So actually the system worked. Occasionally things like that are going to happen, but that's no reason to throw out Florida's sensible red flag law. One can never argue that a law that ignores Due Process works. There are people who without question should not have guns. There are likely times that a person should have guns taken from them BUT you should always have a right to represent yourself.

Sheriff's departments are notorious for confiscating guns, money and valuables, for any reason that they can find. I've known of several people who had similar experiences as this Jonathan Carpenter person.
