Recent Study - Katrina crime wave - never happened

They gave the Katrina evacuees keys to all the rooms in the hotel? I'm sure it couldn't have been a staff member taking advantage of the chaos, not possible, surely the evacuees stole the master key. Your anecdote is certainly groundbreaking.

This is a quote from the actual study, not the article on the study:

Taken together, the “mixed findings” presented here suggested
that Katrina did have some effect on serious crime at least in two of
the three cities examined, but those effects were neither widespread
(across all crime categories), nor pervasive (across the three cities)
.
This suggested that local circumstances, coupled by the volume of
displaced persons being absorbed by any particular city play a role in
increasing crime,
and that disaster planning and relief efforts should
be cognizant of issues of “over-saturation” in the capacity of receiving
communities to adequately adjust to such disasters.

No I dont think they had keys, they flat broke in.

Read what you quoted back to me.

Again they are very clearly saying that the Katrina refugees were “over-saturated” into certain areas. AND had a part in increasing the volume of crime.

Well boys, it would also seem to me as if a few of you mistakenly think that I am someone else. So I will forgive your rude behavior.

Think again.

I don't want your forgiveness. I want honesty.

Robbery on that level would have been documented so show us some police reports or media reports of that Marriott. While you're at it, give us the address of that hotel. Surely you must know it by how often your colleague had to stay there.

Hey Masked Man..........

I am just saying that if an entire Marriot got burglarized by Katrina refugees, it would probably in the news...

Hi ho Silver!

They kicked in a locked hotel room door and no one noticed? Maybe your people should stay at better hotels. When I stay in rat traps with flimsy doors I always assume my shit can be stolen.

So its just a coincidence that the crime causing evacuees all showed up in the same cities, and the non-crime causing ones showed up in different cities?

So.....................

Absolutely no journalistic reporting of the Marriot that the Katrina refugees ransacked?

The looters gave all msm CEOs free towels so they scrapped the story. You know how those librul socialists love free stuff!

That must be it. Because no way could a story like this be bullshit or anything.

I remember when the fear hit Baton Rouge (where I was living at the time).;

I came home late one night, and my brother actually greeted me at the door with fucking knife in his hand, ready to stab me if I was a looter!

The Mayor closed the city government for fear of widespread rioting - in actuality the only incident was a single car jacking (though I don't blame Holden for being safe. Better safe than sorry)

The first murder involving a Katrina evacuee in BR - the victim was from New Orleans and the perpetrator from BR.

Maybe that's what mean old Babs meant when she said that Katrina refugees had it better outside of NOLA.

We were free to steal and not even the press would notice!

A huge crime wave blamed on thousands of Katrina evacuees in Houston and other Southwest cities never happened, say criminologists who warned public officials and the media to be careful in attributing crime to the former New Orleans residents.

Well of course, admitting it did would just not be politically correct...

It seems political correctness is more important than the truth.
