Nah, I wasn't in the military. Just thought I'd aim a jab at John Kerry, who used the same line as an opener to his acceptance speech at the Democrat National Convention.

The name "REASON" comes from the Reason Foundation, (a free market libertarian think tank I occasionally agree with, more so several years ago than now.) The 10 was a forum limitation when I first started posting at Delphi forums many years ago. (there were already Reasons 0 through 9). I was kicked out for disagreeing with liberals, but the name kinda stuck.

I live in Florida, work as a musician and a teacher. (The teaching barely pays for the gas, but I have three fine students, two for piano and one for trumpet.) It's more fun than an occupation. The music keeps the roof over the head.

So, I'm a guy. Ideology is pretty much in the ballpark of Ronald Reagan, William F. Buckley and Rush Limbaugh. So if you're a die hard liberal, I promise you life will not be boring.

I've been doing this a while, so I've settled down a lot as far as the posting style goes. (Fewer flames and bad language. You get my drift.)

You lost me with Rush Limbaugh.

Welcome.

Buckley and Limbaugh are diametrically opposite poles on the conservative spectrum. Thanks for the heads up about cognitive dissonance in your posts. :D

Have a nice day.

Oh, thank goodness you are here. The forum needs more who think like you. Oh wait, we already have a billion of them so you should fit right in.

Welcome.

I hope I do. I don't fit in too many other places.

Excuse me? Limbaugh CREDITS Buckley for his entire ideology. Buckley was Limbaugh's friend.

Make yourself at home ... Some people will agree, others will disagree with you ... But it is pretty hard to get kicked out unless you flagrantly disobey the site rules.

I subscribe to Reason Magazine. I'm more of a far left anarchist, though. Anyway, welcome.

"Anarchism is based on the premise that since few of us are capable of managing our own lives, even fewer of us are capable of managing the lives of others." - Edward Abbey

Might not have gotten that quote exactly right, but close enough

I lose idiots all the time with Rush. Not a problem. There are intelligent adults willing to discuss the issues, who don't have a KLAN like hatred of AMERICA'S ANCHORMAN.

Reagan was the greatest president in history. Rush is right and you are wrong. I can't make it any simpler than that.
