Lets take a step back and review the past 4 election cycles. The Democrats have seriously defeated the GOP in 2006, 2008 and 2012. The one exception is 2010, when the GOP took the House, but the Dems kept the Senate.

So, in 4 election cycles in 6 years, we've had the House and Senate up for grabs 4 times (8 chances to take a 1/3 of power) and the White House 2 times.

Of the 3 parts of power, there have been 10 overall chances in 6 years to grab one.

The Democrats took or held:

Senate 2006
Senate 2008
Senate 2010
Senate 2012
House 2006
House 2008
White House 2008
White House 2012

The GOP took or held:

House 2010
House 2012

Is this the demographic and ideological shift we've been hearing about for so long? Doesn't look like this trend will reverse anytime soon.

Like Lincoln said, you can only fool some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time. Republicans are evil lying fucks who are controlled by the very rich who wish to turn our country into a serfdom. In the information age, that's not going to fly anymore.

I wouldn't even consider the house a true win for the republicans.

They gave themselves quite a few definitive seats after the redistricting.

Yes it's a trend. The GOP has lost the ability to win National elections.

What is disturbing to me is that anyone, even a die hard Democrat, would think that we are now faced with a 1 party dictatorship for the foreseeable future is good news.

Nope. Its not good news. I wish the GOP would get its head out of its ass, and offer a better alternative.

Hey BB: Wow
1. You sound almost EXACTLY like what critics are saying about Democrats, except they further blame the liberal media for blocking the information from getting out there.
2. Could it be that BOTH parties are catering to their financial backers, screwing their own constituents who are sincere, and each blaming the other party? Could we actually be
in the same boat? And maybe that is part of the selfish game keeping us all in serfdom?
3. Let's make a bet to see whose party is more sincere, and which is all about benefits for the few at the top. Shall we both post statements online, inviting Dems and GOP to prove who is willing to invest in rebuilding America through jobs, health care education?

I have put together a special campaign asking citizens to invest or donate $5-10 each in honor of Vets or church leaders to a special program and business plan, designed to help Vet and church volunteers break the cycle of poverty while investing resources in saving national historic site of church, military and civil rights landmarks.

If you really believe all the GOP are liars for the rich, and the same thing isn't also devastating and hijacking the Dems as well, let's see where the most help comes from.

Here is one site for the business plan to restore a national historic district as a community campus to provide housing and health care for Vets while training them and future leaders in sustainable financial, property and administrative management:
Freedmen's Town Historic Vet Housing

If you are willing to make a bet on this, I would LOVE to see if the Occupy/Tea Party members can chip in $5 million collectively, the Democrats can find 1-10 donors to lend invest or donate $1 million each, and if Trump and Adelson will match that with a loan for $5 million to buy the historic property for Vets to develop a campus to save the churches by generating renewable income from managing the residential and commercial property under mentorship training with successful business leaders investing in education.

Would you like to issue this national challenge by Nov. 12 in honor of our Troops?
And see who responds by Thanksgiving and Christmas to create an educational housing project in managing business and health care services instead of relying on govt?

What say you?

agreed.....if power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely ( Johnson I think ;))

IF that foretold demographic wave is truly upon us and by the looks of it is, then, it will take pretty much the second coming of Reagan and/or catastrophe ( this one apparently isn't catastrophic enough) ...for the gop to win the WH.

The house is truly local, so theres a check there but, watch whats going to go down now- the house will be completely and continuously pounded/overwhelmed by the media to drop their pants....I agree they should work together but it appears to me that ried most especially has not worked at all, bills sent by the house languished as tabled , no committees on the budgets sent up, nada. BUT they won't bear the brunt, the House will, watch.

Life is good sucking off the government teet.............demwits are great teet suckers, just that the teet is running dry.....

Dear CM: then look at where this will also cause a shift:
instead of relying on elected leaders to push party agenda,
we are going to have to put more focus on CHECKING the decisions made by govt
or organizing outside and doing the work ourselves.

So if we make decisions based on consensus and Constitutional inclusion of input from all sides, it won't matter who is actually in office, the policies need to be solid, not partisan.

You can invite as many people as you want to join your party and vote for your leaders.
But the actual programs implemented will depend on what people AGREE to fund, and what is sustainable.
Not based on getting more numbers to overrule by majority vote.

We are clearly going to have to shift away from the numbers game, and start focusing on
solid policies and programs that "stand their ground" based on the Constitution not party.

so take heart. the independent Greens, Libertarians and Constitutionalists in the GOP and Tea Party are more grounded in standing for principles regardless of smaller numbers.
That is where the authority is going to shift, in who can organize CONSENSUS on laws.
If the Democrats are only focused on attracted uneducated voters who depend on them, and are not working to EDUCATE their base on how to govern themselves, then their numbers will dilure their influence. Only the people who can manage political diversity and form centrist solutions will lead in decision and policy making; it will not be by majority rule.

If the Democrats are only focused on attracted uneducated voters who depend on them, and are not working to EDUCATE their base on how to govern themselves, then their numbers will dilure their influence.

Keep with that idea.. Double down on dumb!

See how far it gets you.

Romney's sentiment that echoed that mantra got him busted up. Not only because it's offensive, but because it's a blatant lie.

The Constitution is done. For one thing, it's not applicable to a degenerate population. A nation filled with people this corrupt requires a despotic leader which is how a despot got elected to be presidebt.

What in the blue hell are you talking about Emily?

Blue hell is right. The same way you quoted the Republicans as being corrupted by corporate interest. I was saying the same can be said of Democrats playing this game.
Both parties have sincere members trying to fulfill a good purpose and platform; both parties get abused by greedy interests for which their parties are blamed and discredited.

Here is the letter, if you'd like to take up this challenge.
Of posting a national invitation to both Dems and GOP to see who will respond,
and who will let others pay for this program. We'll see if Dem backers really support Black History and African American education; and if the GOP backers really support Vets and if the trickle down theory works, that if you leave it to the private sector, the money saved will be invested in better programs and businesses than going through the govt.

Dear Proud Americans:

If you can read this email, please join in giving thanks to the U.S. Military for the Internet, and the political freedom to speak and organize freely.

Thanks to the Internet, I know many people who otherwise may not be with us today, except for online access to referrals and resources which saved their lives. We elected our first African American President thanks in part to online organizing, that was able to reach people around the world in support.

The Internet has opened the door to independent media, where more people can check multiple sources for false, misleading or suppressed information, and there is greater ability to hold our government and large corporations accountable. More and more citizens can organize and participate directly in enforcing equal standards of due process and representation of people’s interests on the grassroots level affected by local and global policies alike.

Given the fallout in Libya, we are reminded how much we owe our Military thanks for this freedom we have to continue our elections, without threat of violent disruption between opposing parties shutting down the process. Though we may still abuse our free speech and Internet to bully, using words as weapons, the war of words can be won without physical violence. Every day, we use our free speech and press to educate and correct one another civilly, thanks to God’s gift of intellectual freedom and all those who have made great sacrifices, so we can exercise our freedoms to grow as a nation and society.

At this time, I ask your help to think of ONE person – a teacher, church volunteer, military or police officer, or other friend or leader – you would most like to thank for inspiring you to be a bigger, better person, and to make the most of your resources and potential to fulfill your dreams and purpose in life.

If you can name the person you would most like to be remembered in history as a personal hero, I am asking everyone reading this email to collect donations of $5 per person, form a community team, and invest your money in saving a historic building, house, church or school to honor your favorite Veterans and leaders who have contributed to your city’s history. If you can organize a network of sites, I urge you to contact local schools and historic or civic associations to create a “campus” of housing, education and service facilities to build jobs using local resources. To collect matching funds by donation or business loan, you can honor your heroes by printing local bonds or currency, with images of community landmarks and leaders, and distribute these among investors and businesses that agree to accept and circulate local currency. (Please see Ithaca Hours - Local Currency - Ithaca, New York or http://www.ithacahours.com for instructions.)

The goal of this campaign to send a message of “Thanks a Million to our Troops” is for a Million people to collect $5-10 each. If we can raise 10 million dollars, we can buy and save historic property to create local campus programs for education, health care and social services integrated into housing for Vets.

If your community does not have money, but debts and damages caused by crime or corruption, please organize teams around an issue requiring correction or a victim deserving of restitution. Pick a site for a community center or program to address these grievances, and issue local notes to represent the cost of restitution owed as needed to restore the family or community affected, and collect loans or donations, using the property or program as collateral. Either the wrongdoers can pay back their debt, or the citizens who invest in paying the restitution will share ownership in the program that resolves the problem.
In order to generate sustainable income, I recommend researching and selecting property that churches or nonprofits can purchase tax-free, or which business partners can use to help charities manage investment property to build a longterm endowment or trust. (Please see http://www.luinc.com.)

If you or your team chooses to focus on a historic hero or issue of statewide or national importance, please contact me about organizing a national team and federal microlending system per State, for honoring your leaders, redressing grievances and debts owed to taxpayers, and investing restitution into preserving landmarks across our country. If you are in California, please organize around the Headwaters Redwood Forest and endangered wildlife destroyed by hostile corporate takeover at a cost of over $1 billion to taxpayers in failed junk bonds and interest. If you are in Texas, please join the nonprofit coalition of 8 historic churches built by Freed Slaves after Emancipation in honoring African American and Civil Rights leaders by building a campus for housing Vets and training future leaders from all States in the National Historic District of Freedmen’s Town, as a model for rebuilding America.

This Thanksgiving and Christmas Season, please give Thanks to our Troops, local leaders and national heroes by investing in America.

Pick a site, form a team around the issues or leaders you most want to recognize publicly, and organize your local nonprofits, churches, businesses and schools in the area to create a community program and a historic legacy in honor of the people who most inspire you to serve your country as they did.

Thank you and God Bless!
Yours truly,

Please use $ 5 million offer to donate to nonprofit Coalition of Pastoral Leaders to purchase 3 blocks of historic property for Vets to build a campus. The last 8 Freed Slave Churches in our National Historic District of Freedmen's Town formed a team of community leaders to develop business plans to preserve the last 10 rowhouses to house and train Vets in sustainable financial/property management, to generate revenue for historic preservation. Restoring Freedmen's Town District as a community campus will create jobs in housing, health care and education with a focus on African American Civil Rights, Church, and Military history. It doesn't have to be that way. The GOP keeps thinking they need a different person to express their ideas. They don't need a new person, they need new ideas.

and your ideas? you must have some because aside from some glossy brochure I didn't hear anything substantive out of obama...

There uis definitely a pattern here.

Dems control teacher's unions>Teachers teach liberal values>Dumber and dumber students graduate>dumber students vote Democrat>Democrats take care of teacher's unions

Rinse and repeat.
