Criminalize Conservatism: Reagan: Worst President of Our Lifetime

Anyone want to add anything?

Not the worst by far. Sure, he may have pushed the first domino, but its thees last four worthless sacks of feces that have really screwed it up.

Reagan, worst prez in our lifetime
He doesn't even make the top three.

1) LBJ: 58,000+ American boys and untold Vietnamese dead over a lost cause, and the saddling of America with the socialistic welfare state morass primarily responsible for the economic mess we're in today.

2) Nixon: As corrupt as they come.

3) Carter: As inept and bungling as they come, though the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania is giving him a real run for the money.

He was not technically in my lifetime since I was born in 64 but i would put JFK in there if he was not one of the worst he was one of the most overrated in my opinion.

A catastrophe- and we're lucky his BS bluster didn't get hardliners to throw out Gorbrchev- who ended the USSR. Reagan ruined the nonrich and the country, produced the Pub propaganda machine disgrace, made hating the poor acceptable, and has Booosh and this depression as a legacy. The demented fool LOL.

The Demise of the American Middle Class In Numbers.

Over the past 60 years (actually 30, obviously) the American dream has gradually disappeared. The process was slow, so most people didn’t notice. They just worked a few more hours, borrowed a little more and cut back on non-essentials. But looking at the numbers and comparing them over long time periods, it is obvious that things have changed drastically. Here are the details:

1. WORKERS PRODUCE MORE BUT THE GAINS GO TO BUSINESS.

Over the past 63 years worker productivity has grown by 2.0% per year.

But after 1980, workers received a smaller share every year. Labor’s share of income (1992 = 100%):

1950 = 101%
1960 = 105%
1970 = 105%
1980 = 105% – Reagan
1990 = 100%
2000 = 96%
2007 = 92%

A 13% drop since 1980

2. THE TOP 10% GET A LARGER SHARE.

Share of National Income going to Top 10%:

1950 = 35%
1960 = 34%
1970 = 34%
1980 = 34% – Reagan
1990 = 40%
2000 = 47%
2007 = 50%

An increase of 16% since Reagan.

3. WORKERS COMPENSATED FOR THE LOSS OF INCOME BY SPENDING THEIR SAVINGS.

The savings Rose up to Reagan and fell during and after.

1950 = 6.0%
1960 = 7.0%
1970 = 8.5%
1980 = 10.0% – Reagan
1982 = 11.2% – Peak
1990 = 7.0%
2000 = 2.0%
2006 = -1.1% (Negative = withdrawing from savings)

A 12.3% drop after Reagan.

4. WORKERS ALSO BORROWED TO MAKE UP FOR THE LOSS.

Household Debt as percentage of GDP:

1965 = 46%
1970 = 45%
1980 = 50% – Reagan
1990 = 61%
2000 = 69%
2007 = 95%

A 45% increase after 1980.

5. SO THE GAP BETWEEN THE RICHEST AND THE POOREST HAS GROWN.

Gap Between the Share of Capital Income earned by the top 1%
and the bottom 80%:

1980 = 10%
2003 = 56%

A 5.6 times increase.

6. AND THE AMERICAN DREAM IS GONE.

The Probably of Moving Up from the Bottom 40% to the Top 40%:

1945 = 12%
1958 = 6%
1990 = 3%
2000 = 2%

A 10% Decrease.

Obama, then Carter.

Worst Presidents in any ones lifetimes.

obama is so bad he has to ask someone from France come help screw up our economy too.

obama is so bad that Americans are jealous of Venezuelans who got Chavez skidding on that banana peel.

Nah. How could anyone think that Crusader is a racist.
At the time no one knew "Bedtime for Bonzo" would become racist.
Wasn't. But Crusader is.
Maybe, but I have no idea what "racist" means anymore. It used to mean things like wearing a white hood and burning crosses. Now it seems to automatically kick in just about anything any self-righteous twit disagrees with.

Government grew under Reagan
Unpaid for tax cuts
Tripled the debt
Deregulation of industry
Crushed unions

Beginning of the end for the middle class
True, the government and the debt grew bigger, but the economy grew relatively far morer under Reagan.

What the hell is an "unpaid for tax cut"?

With the deregulation of industry and crushed unions, perhaps you're right in that he didn't go far enough. Still, he did one hell of a job!

Yes he did and I sure wish he were in the WH right now instead of that fuck who is.

Reagan cleaned up Carters mess in two years. That fuck has had four years already and the economy is still in the toilet and UE is at what, 7.9%. Anyone think thinks will be okay after another four years of that brainless idiot??

Reagan wasn't perfect by a long shot but he sure as hell knew how to get the job done.

Anyone want to add anything?

I still think Bush was worse

Just in my lifetime.. who was better??
Johnson?? Probably the 2nd worst foreign policy president during my lifetime, and expanding entitlements immensely...
Nixon?? We all know Watergate knocks him down, but is not as bad as many historians and common folk state. Pretty good with dealing with China etc, but not anything great even before you factor in the scandal.
Ford?? Basically a placekeeper
Carter?? Probably the worst president in the 2nd 1/2 of the 20th century.. Well, not probably, definitely...
Bush I?? Had a chance, but reneged on issues. Cowered to the UN..
Clinton?? Hate to say it but maybe the 2nd best president during my lifetime, if only because the guy worked across the table...
Bush II.. Not as bad as the lefties like to portray. I have to applaud his gumption and his stance not to blame others for situations he was in. But fiscally horrid...
Obama?? With a chance to be even worse than Carter... Expanding entitlements, spending like a drunken sailor.. May take decades to repair what this man has brought upon the country...

No.. Reagan was a damn good president.. With faults like every man and every leader... but the positives FAR outweigh the negatives
