Well, Pavlovian response from the regular Conservatives, some grudging respect from the conservatives. It was a good speech.

Tax cuts, balanced budget.. Hussein the 44th could eliminate the income tax, balance the budget, nuke Iran, Iraq, shoot and hog tie Usama Bin Laden from his helicopter and the GOP would still say it was all teleprompter politics..

(But it curiously doesn't delegitimize the 'organization' that funded and armed them, hmmm). The Somoza Dynasty bankrupted Nicaragua, he robbed it DRY. Even after the 72 managua earthquake, they flat out STOLE all of the development and crisis aid. That broke the camel's back and the people of Nicaragua DEPOSED THAT SON OF A BITCH. Who were the contras? The contras were the remnants of his National Guard, his SS for all intents and purposes. Except unlike the Nazi SS, this guys were backed by Big Daddy up in Washington, so they are the GOOD SS, right?

No, the Sandinistas certainly weren't angels in the least, but the fact was that the Sandinistas deposed the fucker that was Somoza and for it the people ELECTED them in 1986. It was the Contras that escalated the atrocities and committed unspeakable shit, even if the Sandinistas were guilty of the same repression that accompanies all revolutions. Not to mention their degeneration into a ridiculous party years after.

In any case, regardless of what one calls the Sandinistas, nobody can deny that the Contras were tried-and-true terrorists.
