Reagan rasied Social Security withholding taxes more than any other POTUS in history.

And by doing so he saved social security.

That's one policiy of his I approve of and so Good for ST. Ronnie as it regards that particular policy decision.

The problem is not so much what the rich are paying in taxes than the fact that their efforts to make themselves richer have dried up other sources of income.

By breaking up unions, shipping jobs overseas, eliminating tariffs and excises to encourage "free trade" (which has meant we've gone to an economy of importing manufactured goods and exporting our natural resources) we've reduced the amount of money coming in from other sources.

When Reagan cut taxes on everyone, there was still plenty of money from these other sources. Now, there isn't.
