Hmm. I think I heard that bullshit before.

If things get much wierder with the economy, I'm considering lying about my age and reupping myself.

Hell I can retire with a pension when I'm 74 if I do.

Then I'll begin enjoying my golden years in that luxurious affluence that Gunny and RGS enjoy today.

Maybe they are re enlisting because they know that Obama will be the next POYUS and they will be able to come home. They will no longer have to fight GWB'S Toy sand box war any longer.

t I feel a duty to educate the ignorant Democrats everywhere....

Hey, Turd, some of those who re enlisted are Democrats.

Suprise, suprise, it's isn't only the right that loves America. But it is many of them who think this.

Fuck fake patriots who judge others unpatriotic because they don't agree with them.

Actually you may be on the right track....

its the stock market tanking because they think that Obama will be the next POTUS....
they say the market is about 6 to 9 months ahead of the curve....

so practice up on saying , "my lord bəˈrɑːk hʊˈseɪn oʊˈbɑːmə"

I just spent the last half an hour looking around for the luxurious affluence I have been receiving and came to the conclusion that must be chair in the living room your talking about. These young men and women that re-enlist have my deepest admiration and respect. They have given all Americans a visual display of serving a cause greater than themselves. While I'm sure there is economic security that in some small way motivates some, I would venture to guess if you asked each one of these people why they re-enislted you might get a different answer. Has anyone stopped for a moment to consider that perhaps these young people does this because they simply have a love of their country and wish to keep serving it?

Navy, having spent my 21 in, I agree with you. Some will re up for the money. You don't get rich with the pay. Others, like myself, just liked what we were doing and stayed in, Democrat and Repbulican.

I don't ever remember getting into a right left political argument while I was active. You just did your thing.

so practice up on saying , "my lord bəˈrɑːk hʊˈseɪn oʊˈbɑːmə"

No you practice up saying : President Obama.

I bet if you were around when Kennedy ran you said practice saying I believe to the pope.

Oh, I was around sonny....at a squadron party on the beach in Gitmo when he was assassinated as a matter of fact.....
the last Democrat I voted for too.....
especially liked the fact that he cut taxes as Dems did in those days and stood up the Russians with the Cuban blockade.....

he was quite unlike any of the Dimwits in his party these days....I think he would find todays dims just as fuckin' disgusting today as I do....

Carry on...

If I was was given the opportunity to rejoin my squadron at NAS Sigonella in supporting the 7th fleet's role of finding that bastard Osama Bin Laden, I would be the first to reenlist. Remember Bin Laden - Al Qaeda? The ones who started this mess. If this government pursued such a mission, instead of having a president and administration pursue a vendetta and bid contracts in Iraq, you'd have a flood of people enlisting for the love of their country and we wouldn't be having this argument.

largest Re-enlistment ceremony in american history

You won't see it in main stream media, but I feel a duty to educate the ignorant Democrats everywhere....

Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda attacked us on 9-11 where Bush promply sends the bulk of our military to Iraq all while bin-Laden basks in the sun in Pakistan. The military is so excited about this that they are having the biggest reenlistment party in history. So you would rather be in Iraq instead of fighting bin-Laden. Ok, we've known this for quite a while now. So what are you trying to educate us about?

It's nice to see retired military here who are not whining about "socialism."

Kudos....

Exactly, when people can't find work they enlist.

That's horseshit. I never once met a soldier in the Corps who joined because he couldn't get a job anywhere else. That's an insult to every fellow brother of mine serving my great country.

Our soldiers are highly intelligent and the bravest warriors on God's green earth. We don't "settle" for anything. We do/did it because we love our great country and wanted to serve it proudly.

Dismissed.

People don't just go out and say "man, I just settled for this shitty job, cause I was too dumb to get a job anywhere else"

Good, so we can stop paying soldiers and still have an army? No? Wait, is that because they do it for the money too?

Yeah, thought so. Soldiers join up for any variety of reasons. One being, a shitty economy. If you don't recognize that, your a naive little child.

Let's see here... live off of mom and dad, drive their car everywhere, meet hot chicks and get laid... or go to a 3rd world country and get blown up by IED's.

Methinks that anyone re-enlisting deserves our thanks and grattitude and not our insults.

When you compare the intelligence of the average man in the United States military vs. the intelligence of the average joe six pack, you'll find an AMAZING difference in how much more intelligent our servicemen and women are.

I'm not sure why you've gotten you knickers in a twist over what I said. It wasn't an insult.

Me hopes that most soldiers don't share your emotional wussiness and over the top sensitivity.

I'm pretty positive they don't.
