Rating?

Okay, I'm new at this. There is a column on the threads titled rating and a symbol. What does the rating mean and who does the rating? Thanks, Pappadave.

Anyone can rate a thread. It's a pull down menu. If you rate it, it will show on your "User CP" page, etc. Might also show on everyone else's...I'm not sure.
