Rape of the Republic
"conservatives are traitors!"...
"liberal fools are cowards!"...
divide the blinded masses
to grasp unregulated power
employing fraud to win elections
deploying hate to get their way
cloaking bigotry in religion
trading soldier's blood for pay
stirring fear to skim the nation
both parties moan and whine
greasing palms with dirty fingers
pointed toward the other side
now lady liberty hangs her head
and prays for better leaders
as corporate money writes the laws
for the citizen bottom feeders
