Ranked choice voting Unconstitutional

This sounds like an "instant run-off" system where the lowest vote-getter is dropped and his votes are distributed to the remaining candidates until one candidate has a majority. This system has some merit; however, it apparently violates a "plurality" provision of the Maine Constitution.

It's the same thing as "instant runoff".

We've had it here in the Bay Area for about 5 years now. I don't have any firm opinions on it.

The French should have used something like it in their Presidential election. It was ridiculous to have a runoff between two candidates who together didn't receive 50% of the votes in the primary election.
