Rangle found guilty

it will be interesting to see what happens when this goes to the full House for action. Will they try to determine his punishment during the lame duck session (and the Democrat majority possibly issue a lighter punishment) or defer to the new Congress when the Republicans take over?

It still has to go to the full Ethics committee before it gets to the House. My guess is they will try to ram it through with a reprimand rather than letting the Republicans have a chance to unseat him.

Well he's found guilty.

Can he be prosecuted??

Sure hope so.

If he gets kicked out of Congress he'll just retire and live the life of riley.

He does have that golden parachute provided by we the taxpayer.

Wonder if that retirement package can be recinded?? Sure hope so.

I think they can strip it from him in the House, but I would not be willing to be quoted on it.

Will the Democrats pass on an opportunity to be agents of hope and change? How much capital is Pelosi willing to expend on this? Another cheater in charge of our taxes. No surprise there.

Break the rules pay the price , what an asshole

A House ethics panel has convicted Representative Charles B. Rangel of 12 of the 13 ethics violations he faced.

Mr. Rangel, an 80-year-old Democrat who has represented Harlem for four decades and was the longtime head of the House Ways and Means Committee, had been accused of bringing dishonor to Congress by accepting rent-stabilized apartments from a Manhattan developer, failing to pay taxes on a rental income from his Dominican villa and raising charitable donations from companies and corporate executives who had business before the committee he led.

This is an example of a RACIST GOP WITCHHUNT!!!!

Being impeached does not preclude a criminal investigation into his behavior either, he COULD face both, but do you really think an Eric Holder ran Justice Dep't is going to try a fellow black D?

I wait with interest for proof, with a seated Democratic majority House.

When did we convict Rangle of being a witch? Do we drown them or burn them these days? Isn't that some whacked out religious discrimination?

He got booted from the "Ways and Means" committee..he faces either a reprimand or censure.

He also paid down the taxes and fines.

What next? A public flogging?
