Rep. Stark to Step in as Interim Ways and Means Chairman <==FOXNEWS
California Rep. Pete Stark will temporarily seize the gavel of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee, succeeding Rep. Charlie Rangel, D-N.Y., who stepped aside because of an ethics probe, Fox News learned Wednesday.
Rangel stepped aside Wednesday morning until the ethics committee finishes investigating him on a slate of probes, ranging from his failure to pay taxes to his use of rent-controlled apartments in Harlem for political purposes.
Known for a sometimes-volcanic temper, many Democrats fretted privately that Stark is too volatile to lead such an important committee.
In a famous 2007 incident on the House floor, Stark accused President Bush of sending troops to Iraq"to get their heads blown off for the president's amusement."
He also once called former Colorado Republican Rep. Scott McInnis a "fruitcake."

Rangel to Step Down From Ways and Means Post Amid Ethics Probe <==FOX NEWS
Embattled Rep. Charlie Rangel announced Wednesday that he plans to step down as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee amid a wide-ranging ethics probe.
The announcement came as Republicans readied a formal resolution to strip the Harlem Democrat of his chairmanship, and as several Democrats began to peel away and call for Rangel to step down from his leadership post.
The New York Democrat made clear that he initiated the move. He said he sent a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Wednesday morning asking her to grant him a "leave of absence" until the ethics committee investigation into his activities is completed. Rep. Pete Stark, D-Calif., is expected to succeed him.

And remember when Pelosi in '06 when she grabbed the gavel of the speakership that she was going to 'DRAIN' the swamp? Well it appears that she refused to remove the 'plug'...it took almost dynamite by the Republicans to finally get this going and it wasn't PELOSI doing it.
And what's with this furlough crap anyway? Mr. Rangle, in MY view? Yer DONE. Start looking for another JOB. (That is if you are arrested and 'FROG MARCHED' before the cameras to what YOU really deserve. And then all BETS are off).
