Rand Paul suggests shutting down the govt

The government continues to collect tax receipts and faces the Real World situation of having to live within its means.
YES!!! We the people shouldn't be FORCED to take on the burden because Uncle Sam has a spending problem.

Who goes out and spends more after they have maxxed out all their credit cards and simply cannot afford to buy any more things? Nobody...except our government. They do it because they can and the sheep line right up and say "We'll help out!! We need to pay our fair share!."

It is more like "They'll help out, have them pay their fair share". Even though their increased stolen tax dollars wont make a dent.

If Romney had won the election the situation would be no different...

...except perhaps that the GOP wouldn't be putting on this show of fake fiscal responsibility.

The Government's Biggest Fear of a Shutdown happening:

The public will realize how little they actually need most of the government and start to think they are better off without that "most".

what will be the real world effectss of NOT raising the debt limit?

40% of government spending is borrowed. Since we couldn't add debt, we couldn't borrow,

thus, 40% of the government would grind to a halt.

Mass cessations of ongoing or pending defense contracts would be one BIG effect.
