I don't know whether Paul is doing a good job of it himself or whether it is just you lefties that are out to bring him down the way righties (me included I hate to admit) brought down Kerry. I do know that the left seems to be doing their damnedest to smear Rand Paul and that tells me that they are afraid of him as they were Sarah Palin. On a personal note: it also tells me that I might want to actually pay attention to Paul, maybe he has something. If the establishment fears him then maybe there is something good in him after all?

As for Palin, there was definitely nothing to fear from her at least not as a running mate of McCain. Had she stayed out of that mix, she might have gone somewhere, but associating her name with McCain destroyed her... period.

I wish it were different from the left too. It seems all I see from either side is attack ads. That is a shame if you ask me. Neither side cares about making this a better country. Rand Paul seems to be making rookie mistakes. His ideology is most radical and unlike a seasoned politician he actually says what he believes. It is unlikely any thinking, informed and rational American voter will support him. Rand Paul's ideology is way extreme and if one were to step back, put their emotions in the pocket, and consider the consequences of what he suggests, his ideas will be rejected by the many.

I grew up in the S.F. Bay Area. I loved the Raiders in their heyday. It has been tough for the last 15 - 20 years though. Even the year they played the Bucs in the Super Bowl wasn't one to remember.

But the year they moved to L.A. I said "No More!" However, my anti-Raider support lasted exactly one quarter. But, the good news was that I picked up the 49ers at that time too and that was right about the time Joe Montana came along, so all was not lost.

Now I have four favorite teams: The 49ers/Raiders about equal in my book, I live in Tampa now so gotta support the Bucs and finally... whoever plays Dallas!

So, no, I don't take anti-depressants or watch soccer... yet. But, it might be worth a shot.

Wanna know why? He'd announced his candidacy on Rachel Maddow on MSNBC. He'd gotten a lot of good air time out of that. After he'd won? Ms. Maddow had him back on her show and gave him 20 minutes.

However, when asked about the 1964 legislation concerning civil rights, he wouldn't answer, and when finally forced, he said crap he'd rather forget.

The next day? He was back pedaling all over the place.

Face it............Ron Paul is someone that the GOP should drop before elections. The more he talks, the more he puts his foot in his mouth.

But......if you want KY to go Dem, keep Paul on the ticket.

From what I heard about the Civil Rights Act comment in some respects I agree with Mr. Paul. I would rather the government keep its cotton pickin' nose out of private business, but as I said yesterday, there was good reason for the Civil Rights Act and we have not gone far enough to warrant it being a thing of the past.
