Radicals Abort Free Speech Rights of Leftists.

I understand the principle(s) involved. I just can't see past your straw men and red herrings?

Free Speech has limits. Everything has limits. What is your point?

That free speech has limits and some on USMB have principles. You need a break and since you won't stop as long as I post on the thread, I'll stop here for now.

Do you need a 9:45 or a 10:45 session tomorrow?
9:50 will do fine

thank you

some on USMB have principles. never said the contrary. define: some

Some: not you.

most every post is a fight when dealing with propagandists. I have always considered Gunny to be a propagandist.

sorry, but my affection for Gunny as a person does not distort my view of reality

These forums ARE propaganda!! It's why they exist. "Facts" are out there in other venues. But I sure wouldn't single out Gunny as being the worst of right-wing propagandists. There are others who shall not be named :)lol:) that I've finally realized I have to put on ignore, but only to keep my blood pressure on an even keel.

Depends on how you define "right-winger". The only political party I ever belonged to was the Democratic party. I haven't really changed in 30 years. The parties have. They're about politics, maintaining the staus quo, and lining their own pockets.

You DO realize all of these programs as of late won't affect the politicians? Just "we the people". They still get their pay and perks. Free laundry. Free trips home. Free rental vehicles. Free apartments in DC.

All at OUR expense.

That's why I'd like to see them actually WORK for a change, rather than spend endless hours bashing each other and grandstanding on national television.

I have to admit, I have misjudged you. More of this and less rhetoric seems to do the trick.

They haven't worked for anything more than lining their wallets for DECADES and I'm sick of it.

From an idiot that hasn't had the 'nads to engage. I feel so honored.

I engage. I engage!

Pea shooter against heavy armor. I'm going to have to look away. Probably have to redefine engage too. When I worked security, we walked right past guys like you a threw the big boys across the floor. Guys like you got the message.

You wanna work security over at the Homo Cage? CrustyFrank gets way outta hand.

Probably a tougher job these days than in the 80's. Still have a straight nose though, think I'll keep it that way thanks.

So true. I think I started a thread about this about a month ago (or maybe it was just a comment)--that 3/4ths of their time (especially in the House) is spent "doing business with" lobbyists who drop campaign $$ in the bucket and only a quarter of their time actually "doing the business of the people."

Again, you are trying to play word games and lump differing ideologies into two categories, right and left. At the same time, you choose to ignore the socialist tenets of fascism, trying to smokescreen with a "conservative fascism" red herring.

True conservatives cannot be fascists. Do bear in mind I did not say NEOCONS, Republicans, religious fundies or just any politician can't be.

Smaller government and government at the lowest level, personal accountability and maximum personal freedom ... all tenets of conservatism AND the US Constitution ... are in direct contrast to fascism and socialism where the state controls all at every level and redistributes wealth as it sees fit.

Or takes over takes over a a private sector auto manufacturer, a bank, healthcare and now is ranting about Wall Street.

What needs to be controlled is Obama and his fearmongering government takeover of the private sector.

Here we go with the pseudo-intellectualism bs excuses that use the "what a true _________(fill in the blank)" can or cannot look like. When we argue ideological differences we have to deal with realities and not what could or should be.

And nobody has taken over "a private sector auto manufacturer, a bank, healthcare" or Wall Street.

gawd, I've never heard a Gunnery Sgt whine so much. Are you sure you ain't a bitch? I know they allow bitches to be Gunnies.

What do you call it, when an entity takes over 61% of General Motors, or 80% of AIG, Dante?

Again, you are trying to play...

Takes over? Why would the government take over a private business in America?

Looks to me more like a bailout with a demand that for once the American public get some say in how their help is going to be spent.

I would imagine people who scream about guv bailouts and big biz give always would applaud having a say in companies the US Tax Payer has bailed out.

and why a bailout? no sane person has suggested another way at the time, of getting the economy off life support.

It is a take over Dante. The board of directors as many government appointed seats in GM now. Those people are dicating the days supply of vehicles available, which really effects sales of the product. Yes, it is a takeover. The sooner we get those loans paid and new stock issued the better for the company and nation.

So it's not a "takeover," but an interim solution to get GM to that point.

You comfy with short term takeover? I'm willing to compromise to that point.

Without the investment there was no GM. It should be supported by conservatives that teh amount of money used to bailout a company demands a say in the boardroom.

It's not a takeover in the classic sense that right wing lunatics are portraying it. The government did NOT nationalize the auto industry. The government saved asses and is NOT running GM.

Your hatred for President Obama would have you supporting a collapse of the American economy.

shame on you! shame on you.
