Racial profiling persists at airports and TSA

Ethnic profiling persists at airports - Well-Mannered Traveler- msnbc.com

In general, I'm opposed to racial profiling, but in some cases, I have to say it seems reasonable. I WANT TSA staff people to pay more attention to international and particularly muslim travelers than they do to 80 year old grandmas.

Agreed, simple common sense. Racial profiling of drivers and kids walking about is simply wrong. When the numbers start making it obvious, the municipality should pay, big time.

Regarding flights and other 'sensitive areas', profiling makes sense. Reasonableness is something that can't be legislated, but in general it should create little undue burden on travelers.

I agree about patting down grandmothers. The trouble is, as soon as we start profiling, the terrorists will use someone who doesn't fit the government's profile.
