Why do the rich need a tax break, if they are already rich?

The rich always pay more unless we have a tax system that allows exceptions.

You want a fair tax rate? Everyone pays the same. 0-50k 4%, 50-150k 6%, 150 plus 9%. No deductions, no losses no amortizations. You make this much you pay this much.

And they are all tied together. You raise the top rate you raise them all. You lower the bottom the top comes down. We're done with this the rich will pay crap you people love. Stop deviding people.

• Maddow’s nothingburger revealed that Trump paid a tax rate of roughly 25%, compared to MSNBC’s parent company Comcast which paid 24%, Barack Obama (19%) and Bernie Sanders (13%).

• Trump paying $38 million in taxes also disproves a major New York Times story that suggested Trump may have avoided, “paying any federal income taxes for up to 18 years.” That insinuation is fake news.

• Under the headline This 2005 Donald Trump tax return is a total nothingburger, the Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza wrote that Maddow “spent hours touting a massive scoop” but that, “For all the hoopla surrounding the unearthing of these documents, there simply was no smoking gun — or anything close to it.”

• Esquire struck a similar tone, reporting, “We didn’t learn anything we didn’t already know.”

• Even the far-left Sally Kohn tweeted that the story was a “nothingburger”.

• According to CNBC, which is owned by NBCUniversal, the parent company of both CNBC and MSNBC, Maddow’s implosion handed a “nice victory” to Donald Trump

Here was the disaster playing out second-hand on CNN.

Rachel Maddow had promised to deliver the holy grail of the left, President Trump's tax returns, instead she rambled on with an endless opening and offered shocking proof that President Trump paid a lot of money in taxes. After first managing to get scooped on the story by the Daily Beast. Not to mention the White House.

How did this train wreck happen?

Rachel Maddow went from nearly running MSNBC to seeing her version of what the news network ought to be nearly vanish. She's been upstaged by louder voices, including the return of Michael Moore. So she needed a big win. And instead became a joke.

...

It's easy to mock Maddow, but it's not as if the rest of the media is any better. We've now witnessed several elections in which the media scrambled for any attack material which being incapable of judging its value, e.g. Troopergate, the Romney haircut, because it needed it to reaffirm its hatred and conspiracy theories.
