There must be something that I misunderstand about this story. I do not think that there is something about the Jewish Law on Murder and Rape which I profoundly misunderstand.

I find it hard to believe that current Jewish Law and Israeli Law would permit such behavior and crimes. I suppose that iron-age (1200 BC) Mitzvah (religious deed) Law of three-thousand years ago might be much different when compared to contemporary Jewish or Israeli Law.

There must be something in the context of what was said that generates an answer that sound so immediately wrong. But this is not the first statement that Rabbi Col. Eyal Karim has made that needs further explanation.

But I guarantee you this: If a substantiated allegation or probable cause is presented where by a member of the Israeli Defense Force is accused of "rape," the facts of the alleged crime will be fully investigated and (if supported) the suspect will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. No Question!

BUT, I have no idea how the Rabbi how such a story developed. There must be something missing.
