Democrats, and Obama media mouthpieces (CNN's Soledad O'Brien, MSNBC's Chris Matthews, et al), in typical fashion, place blame on the Republicans for the Benghazi attack last month because they allegedly voted in the past years to cut funding for U.S. security at our embassies and consulates. Glaringly, they fail to mention that more Democrats than Republicans in the House voted for this funding cut (149 Democrats to 147 Republicans ).
Secondly, this argument is all for naught since the House vote never reached the Senate.
The blame for the Benghazi attack lies squarely with the Obama administration who wanted to downplay the resurgence of al Qaida, and al Qaida-like terrorists:
Asked by the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee whether budget cuts affected State Dept's security decisions, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Diplomatic Security, Charlene Lamb, who wanted to keep Benghazi security "artificially low" (for the reason I stated above), curtly responded, "[n]o sir."
