Questions for the "pro-common sense gun control" crowd

It is extraordinarily clear that the “pro-common sense gun control” side is almost completely ignorant in regards to virtually every aspect of firearms.
Why should anyone take you seriously when you tell us what we do/do not “need” in regards to the right to keep and bear arms?
How are you a competent judge in this regard?
