To the point where you are neglecting other areas of your life............?
....do you think it's a case of you liking your job that much, or NOT like other areas of your life?

Are you spending extra hours for somebody else? I've had my own business for 30 years and you do spend extra time when it's your baby. But I always tried to keep things balanced, you can get burned out if you keep your nose to the grindstone and don't stop and smell the roses.

Some people are really devoted to their job. It's almost like a hobby to them. They get as much pleasure out of their job, as they do with of any other outside interest. And, some people really want to excel at their job, thus believing that it takes a lot of time and energy to achieve success. It's not necessarily neglecting other areas of one's life, as it is accepting the responsibilities that comes with certain jobs. Back in the day, I was your typical workaholic. I would work many hours that weren't required, just to make sure everything went smoothly the next day. It wasn't that I had no other life outside of work, it was my self-drive and determination to be the best at what I did. And, throughout my working career, it all paid off.

It's basically working at a job that you enjoy, and the willingness to devote whatever time and energy necessary to achieve success. I don't believe that one can like their job too much. I think attitude is 90% of success. Also, neglect can be a misused term depending on what one believes it takes to have both a career and a private life. Most people can balance work with private time, family time, and time for hobbies and other interests. In other words, it all depends on each individual, their motivation and drive, and the type work they do.

I agree. I think if you have your own business you almost necessarily have to put in the extra time.
I wish I could come up with an idea. Am tired of working for others! :)

I think I'm like that. I enjoy my job, it's fun, and often time I want to work on it on off hours, but, hubby hates that says I give them too much time already. I have no interest in promotions, I like my job "as is" so, I'm just working because I like it.... (granted, I don't like ALL duties of my job!)

If my job was space time-ruler, yes, I could love my job too much...

I tried to answer your thing about Korn on the other thread, but said the thread wasn't available... ?

It's not so much I like my job, it would just suck being away to long and have to clean up the cluster fucks that the other maintenance guys/ mold techs and the like cheat at.

They like to jumper safety switches , plug off safety valves and the like. The more I am there the more I am on top off stuff.

In 10 months I cleaned up this place real well.

I rather enjoy my job as a porn star. I hope not too much.
