Okay. This woman on another board says her husband's pay was screwed up, and they're expected to cough up $60 for a mandatory ball. Seriously? Does this make sense to you? She got all defensive when I did something other than click on her Avon link.
I suggested that her husband go to his CO and tell him what happened. If they're that up against it, a simple "Sir, my pay was screwed up and I don't have $60 to attend the mandatory ball. What do you suggest I do?" should work.
My question is - does the military force people to pay their own way to a mandatory social event, for which they may or may not have the money.
