More easily then they do now in the US frankly. I'm European, and live under the system that Bernie aspires to. We know of no college debt. We know of no medical bankruptcy. I voted below for Choice II and the Choice III:

With Socialism like it's close relative Communism nobody is allowed to advance beyond the level of what the lower level is at, this is why I voted for Choice III. EG. If the lower level make 25,000 per year then that's the cap for the general population, the system is designed to keep the general population from advancing. The only ones in a Socialist State and/or Communist State who are allowed to advance up the system are Party Apparatchik's and those who they can use to ensure the State continues which is achieved via intimidation, blackmail, direct threats etc that they get the information for via Informers among the general population, this is why I also voted for Choice III.
