According to data collected by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Medicare has spent more than $240 million of taxpayer money on penis pumps for elderly men over the past decade, and will surpass a quarter of a billion dollars this year for costs since 2001.

The cost to taxpayers for the pumps more than quadrupled during that period, from a low of $11 million in 2001 to a high of more than $47 million in 2010. And these represent only the costs for external devices, technically classified as “Male Vacuum Erection Systems,” not implantable devices or oral drugs such as Viagra.

The Government will only allow you 6 Viagra a month. And the pump is the only device Medicare pays for.

When did you get yours?

The government will only PAY for 6 Viagra a month. Not ALLOW you. If grandpa wants to get laid more than twice a week, he can always pay for them.

Or just settle for pleasuring his wife/hooker. Imagine that.

Go back and re-read RGS' post. Plus I don't think he's the Hooker Visiting type.

It is a valid medical condition. Thus why Medicare and VA pay for it.

Don't need a pump. I have Levitra but no point in refilling it, the wife cut me off years ago.
So did mine. That's why I left the **** in Floridastan ( with 675 grand of my money).
Regional chix are the way to go. All I had to do was buy three houses and employ some family members.Yes. They "love" me.:eusa_shhh:
It works.

I don't believe the govt should pay for sexual dysfunction at all but that's not the point of the article. Penis pumps are bogus. Should vibrators, dildos and porm be covered as well? Some people need those to get off.

From what I understand the Penis Pump is something like 90 percent effective. Further in order to get one you need to see a doctor. Most doctors will do a lot of tests and require you to do other procedures and pills long before they prescribe a pump.

And believe me if a guy brings it up with his doctor it is a serious problem, most guys would rather shoot themselves in the head then admit THAT kind of problem.

I have diabetes and take a lot of anti depressants both effect your sex life.

Is it type II? If so then visit my weight loss thread "Ask A Guy Who Lost 40 Pounds".

A friend at work has Type II and I showed him what I did to lose weight (though I never had Diabetes) and now he and his wife are following the "Primal Blueprint" too.

Lots of things are valid medical conditions. Doesn't mean the government should be paying for them. I'm partially deaf, which is a hell of a lot more "valid" than "can't get it up", and I don't expect the government to buy me a hearing aid.
