The quality of the common people that make up the United States has fallen dramatically. This is due to the quality of the parents and the government. With the government regulating more and more and people are getting incompetent and lazy. For instance, the occupy movement, it is a perfect example of the two reasons. One, it shows that people are becoming reliant on the government for everything. Two, it shows that the parents are failing due to the original protestors ,which were the start of the movement, being college students who had majored in topics which are irrelevant. Now they complain about jobs and complain to the government about this. There are plenty of jobs so long as you major in a good field, such as information technology. It is growing rapidly. Now this highlights the parents inability to steer their kids right and to educate them in how to succeed in life. Now another major problem is how uninformed people are today. Most people just are not well informed by news agencies but it is also partly the news agencies fault. There are no unbiased news agencies in America which don't lean left or right. You get better news from out of country sources. Now this has led to people not being informed about politics, elections, candidates, workings of the government, and etc. This means people are only getting the agencies side of the story. This leads to people having their opinions heavily influenced by a biased media. Now if we could change the media and make it less biased we could start to have progress. As well as getting parents to parent and educate the future of America better so that the future won't be messed up and continuing down our current road. Finally, if we can get the government out of things such as having rules on how parents can parent and discipline their kids we could have progress. The only sure thing is if we don't improve the quality of Americans we won't have much to look forward to in the future but it is not to late to change things.

Parents don't parent because they are too busy trying to be their kids friend,too wrapped up in themselves and their careers, on drugs, or just don't want to be bothered. It's sad.

Generalizing about the "quality" of 300,000,000 people is a fools errand.

In the most obvious case because the wrod quality has no meaning in this case.

In the second because you are talking about a vast number of people who are very different.[] to begin with and whose circumstances are constantly changing, too.
