Putting children to menial work to help aid in their own support

Why should kids not be allowed to go to work for minimum wage doing entry level jobs based on their abilities to work and their abilities to be physically safe doing so... and not be allowed to contribute to the household..
If they have parents who would not otherwise not be able to afford to fulfill level number 3 or higher ?
In fact there are no subsidies for anything above level number 1 at the bottom.
