I lost the thread in the many posted but I remember there were those saying how Putin seemed like a bad ass compared to Obama.

Well I got one thing to say about Putin, screw Putin. Screw him and the horse he rode in on.

What gall he has to be bring the world to another cold war then look at OUR president with disdain. SCREW HIM!

Certainly everyone should know I have no love affair with Obama but that is for US in the USA. We can't be taking the side of shrimps like Putin. Bullies with a smug look as his country goes down the tubes and he threatens peace throughout the world.

Yesterday two Russian bombers flew almost inside British airspace. It has apparently happened over 100 times recently. The are a danger to British airliners as they turn off their transponders and they do not talk to air traffic controllers.

Off the top of my head, Germany, the UK, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan and Canada are in the same boat as Russia as far as one party states go - meaning the same political group always get elected and hold the reigns of power.

I think what Putin and the Russian government does is morally questionable, unethical, and corrupt in all meanings of the word. But the fact remains that a genuinely solid majority of Russians support Putin, and whatever we may think is irrelevant to them.

You need to read up on Russian history from Yeltsin to Putin, and stop acting like Russia is still the USSR - and stop this nonsense that Russia is the new bogeyman.

Merkel plays coalition roulette, and the same political elites have been in power for ages now - without a real change.

The UK system appears to have political choice, but Labour and the Conservatives are two sides of the same coin - ever since Tony Blair and 'New Labour'. UKIP took votes off both, as did the Liberal bunch, but they don't hold much as yet.

Japan is the opposite of Germany, with governments losing out and crumbling every once in a while - but the same political elites (especially due to the constriction lobby) keep the reigns. Changes of government are purely cosmetic.

Singapore is probably the most true one party state of the lot, with the political elite heavily entrenched and 'elections' where they do exist are more like confidence votes.

New Zealand had a brief period from 1999-2008 where it wasn't just Labour-National neo liberals with one party rule every three years. But then National got power and continued where Roger Douglas and Ruth Richardson left off. The only good thing to say is that the system isn't as corrupt as it used to be. If you ask National 'haters', including human rights groups and liberals they think it is hell though.

Canada, is pretty much like the UK, as far as political continuity is concerned, with the same old elites in power for eons now. Wonder if Harper will declare himself leader for life, and develop clones.

Yes. You do know that Obama's dad was a communist, the people who raised him were communists, he's known to have had world renowned communists as his mentors. Everything he does shows that Obama sees himself and his position as a Czarist type of leader of a politburo that provides edicts from DC. He treats us as a tyrant would.
