Hold it--the Vatican is working to get to the white list. This means that they are not trying to launder money, but attempting to be free of possible money laundering schemes.

I don't understand your condemnation. Should we not praise the Catholic church for realizing the vulnerability of their system and making attempts to keep it from being used by criminals?
