PUBLIC SERVANTS SHOULD BE PAID MORE
1 Tim; 5;18.….The laborer is worthy of his wages

They do an important job for Americans and deserve to be paid more, have better healthcare and retirement than hamburger flippers. They make more money and pay more taxes. Paid into unemployment insurance and usually never collect. We can do without hamburgers but not without teachers, firemen, policemen, IRS, FDA, Social Service, CDC, Military, homeland security, border patrol agents, DMV, Department of Tansportation, Department of Agriculture, etc. And we don’t want to see the turnover in teachers, firemen and policemen as we do in Walmart. Chasing criminals, teaching our children and putting out fires in our homes and forest are indispensable jobs and worker should be compensated accordingly. But the radical right want to cut these jobs thus losing more tax revenue and spending more by them collecting unemployment and food stamps.

Those who are paid more, pay more in taxes unless you are a Trump, GE, etc.

You cannot balance the budget and pay down the deficit by cutting jobs. You only create a bigger deficit. You cannot cut enough government spending to balance the budget and pay down the deficit and pay for two war with no end. Taxes will have to be raised across board, Income and sales.

OBION COUNTY, Tenn. - Imagine your home catches fire but the local fire department won't respond, then watches it burn. That's exactly what happened to a local family tonight.

This is privatization.
What would happen if education was privatized and you did not pay your dues? Would child be sent home until you do?

Everyone should be paid more. City people would be up to their necks in disease and filth if it wasn't for sanitation workers. Police Officers should have a Harvard degree and teachers should have four months paid vacation per year instead of just three. Even the ultra liberal FDR administration feared municipal workers having collective barganing power where they could extort money from taxpayers. In most cases we pay municipal workers what we can afford. In the greatest Country in the world (thank God) municipal workers are still free to seek other employment in the private sector if they feel they are being underpaid.

Even though the left wing haters prefer to call conservatives by an offensive slang term thet homosexuals use for one of their thrills, the fact ramains that Americans elected republican governors to get a handle on state spending. Even though the main stream media still maintains a tingle up their collective legs in support for the neo-socialist Obama regime it seems that the under-reported situation is that Americans support strong conservative governors who take a stand against excessive municipal extortions. I hate to credit FDR for political insight but his administration was right about municipal unions.

No, Republicans hate other people making money.

I mean they need a pay raise because they are so poor at 174K a year but teachers are very rich at 51K a year.

See I am a master of Republican logic. I could be a republican candidate. Lets see.

Obama is a muslim and was born in Kenya!!!

America will be taken over by atheists, mostly radical islamists

Drill baby drill.

In NYC, 35% of the population is on welfare.

There are 360,000 public employees in the city of NY, or 1 in 40 of the population.

5 of the highest-real estate taxed counties in the US are in NYS.

1% of NYC's population pays over 50% of its taxes.

NYPD can retire after 20 years on the job - at any age.

In 2001, NYC spent $1.5 billion on pensions - it now spends over $10 billion, a number that will grow to more than half the budget in a few years.

NYS lost more people than other state in the US since 2000.

There are middle school teachers in NYS earning over $150K per year.

Over the last 10 years, upstate NY has endured a reduced children population - yet there were more than 5,000 additional teachers hired there over this same time period.

Are you still here wasting our time with your BS, or do you plan on addressing the facts, like how public employee unions are a total fucking cancer on our society?

I see you have never lived in NYC.

But I don't see a problem with a teacher earning 150K meaning they are pretty good at their job considering the average pay is 60K a year in a very expensive city. But they are making bank for sure.

But I don't understand your rant for the "facts" considering I just gave your misleading "fact" the truth.

So try again.

The argument that public employees pay taxes so we should pay them more is specious.

The government takes our money to pay public employees then the government takes taxes from the public employees.

Well folks those taxes taken from public employees are still money that was taken from us first.

We should be privatizing many public services.

Screw the public employees & their lavish pensions. I know many people who have been trying to land those coveted public jobs, but the unions protest their high paid cronies not allowing the many unemployed to have a chance. The pension entitlements must be eliminated or the USA will default.

Pimco's Gross Sees Little Value In Treasurys As US Debt Grows
Pimco's Bill Gross, founder of bond powerhouse Pimco explained in his April outlook that he had dumped his U.S. Treasury holdings at the end of February because he sees little value in the market given the nation's mounting debt burden.

In addition to the $9.1 trillion in federal debt seen on the books, Gross is worried about the hefty portion of each year's budget that goes toward non-discretionary and entitlement spending. Including obligations for Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, the "true but unrecorded" U.S. debt is $75 trillion, Gross said, which amounts to near 500% of gross domestic product.

"[I have] been selling Treasuries because they have little value within the context of a $75 trillion total debt burden," Gross said in his outlook published on Pimco's website. "Unless entitlements are substantially reformed, I am confident that this country will default on its debt," but "not in conventional ways."

Earlier in March, reports showed that the bond-fund company, which manages more than $1 trillion in assets, sold all its holdings in U.S. government bonds of more than 12 months maturity. Gross's April newsletter reflected his belief that the nation is ultimately in danger of default if deficit spending is not addressed.

"Unless entitlements are substantially reformed, I am confident that this country will default on its debt; not in conventional ways, but by picking the pocket of savers," Gross said, pointing to inflation, currency devaluation and low to negative real interest rates as the "stealth" forms of default--all of which are detrimental to Treasury holders.

Many cities and Towns are already privatizing.

Sand Point, GA is a case in point. The mayor and Town leaders polled the citizens on privatizing their public works. They got the approval and did so.

The Town is saving money. They are getting things done faster, better and cheaper. The citizens in Sand Point are very happy with the savings and the service they are getting.

Wonder if the idea would catch on in CAli, NY, NJ and ILL??
