I don't think so. The publishers know how textbooks are selected and they coddle to the left. I blame the watered down curriculum that is more concerned with "tolerance of immigrant and sexual identities rather than the academics.

However, your point of having 10,000 local districts evaluating their own accomplishments is troubling. I believe in a federal standard of accomplishments (standardized tests that are the same all over the nation) rather than each state creating their, sometimes watered down tests, to prove how good the schools are by looking at pupils individual and composite scores. I am familiar with the tests of two states. One that is a national standardized test and one that is written for their own state. The one from the individual test was much easier than the nationally normed test. You can't compare apples to apples when one has worms.

In Parochial schools in particular.

I cannot address that in recent terms. My child attended parochial schools and received an exemplary education. There were classes that had religious dogma and taught integrity, but their curricula was never placed second. The academics were superb. I'll never forget his second grade astronomy test that was three typed pages long and included knowledge and facts that I was unsure about! But he received a "C" and that was not acceptable. That was the last "C" he ever received. The standardized tests demonstrated that the average for those in each grade was at the 99%ile. Truly amazing.

Interesting links. They all have accusations, but none show that all Christian homeschoolers are abusive or pedophiles who want to marry babies. To accuse all Christians home schoolers of this would be like accusing all public school teachers of being molesters, since so many have been convicted of that crime.

I nowhere in my opening post stated "the lower class" (insulting) should be without an education. I personally homeschool because it is the best method of teaching my son to think for himself and to use reason and logic in his life decisions. Teaching my son to analyze and to question things, instead of accepting what he is told and following the herd, will better prepare him for a future in this world. He will know when he is being bullshitted and when he is dealing with non thinking people.

Prior to government taking over the indoctrinating of your children by forcing them into public schools, childrens educations were far superior to what we have today.

Public schooling is the most obvious act of Socialism that exists in this country today, yet so many know so little they cannot see it. The first act of the child being trained to be a socialist is to have them stand every morning and swear allegiance to a flag that represents its government. The kid doesn't know what s/he is doing or why s/he is doing it, only that s/he has to do it or s/he wont be part of the group.

Side note: The Pledge of Allegiance was written by Francis Julius Bellamy, a socialist. Do you think maybe he knew what he was doing?

You personally homeschool because it is the best method of teaching your son to think like you and keep him from other concepts he may favor and embrace - for himself. I agree about the The Pledge of Allegiance however; it's the type of chant and indoctrination cults and totalitarian systems employ.
