I LOVE THIS MAN!!!!!!!
Great post, Bonnie. The author of the article says so clearly what so many of us believe.
When he talks about the environmentalists fighting against some work the feds wanted to do on the levees in New Orleans way back in LBJ's Administration, it brought to mind what happened in my hometown.
There were three creeks running through our town, and we would have floods every spring. The state and town council had arrived at a plan to dredge and widen the creeks to stop the constant flooding. Three college students filed a suit in court to stop this plan because an endangered species of fish lived in one of the creeks. While this case was in the courts, Hurricane Camille hit. The fallout we got from that storm caused major flooding in our town. Water rose to the roofs of houses and businessese, and people lost everything. All the houses and businesses had to be torn down, and a brand new town had to be built at a new location--a staggering cost to defend an endangered species of fish .
