Traditional marriage evolved from organized religions in partnership with governments. Homosexual marriage evolved from Socialism’s political agenda. Strip away the ”loving, caring, til death do us part” sales pitch and you will see that homosexual marriage is nothing more than legitimating relationships.

Frankly, America is becoming an empire of special privileges designed for the few rather than an empire of laws:

John Adams once wrote, "There is no good government but what is republican. The very definition of a republic is an empire of laws, and not of men."If our laws can be applied willy-nilly at the discretion of a few powerful men, how can we ever trust that there will be equal justice under the law?

In my last column, we talked about how one man's belief in traditional marriage caused multitudes in the "silent majority" to rebel against politically-correct forces of the radical left. For far too long the left has bullied those who adhere to traditional values and morals. Also, for far too long, we have acquiesced — to our own peril. We have seen our rights and freedoms be stripped away by the proverbial "squeaky wheel," the one that gets all the grease. The savvy leftists know that if they complain long enough and loud enough, we will do anything to simply have peace, even surrendering our freedoms. Of course, while we are surrendering said freedoms, we don't actually realize it's happening.

America: A nation of laws?
By Madeline Crabb

America: A nation of laws?

Ultimately, savvy Leftists will codify every relationship imaginable. They will not stop until they receive more legal protections than everybody else enjoys, while the rest of us lose them —— including losing the First Amendment:

First Amendment

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; . . .

The only way America’s original Bill of Rights can survive is with a constitutional amendment that says:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of relationships, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; . . .

See this thread for a few more observations about the merry community:

Adam and Eve were never married, why should we have marriage today? Oh yeah it's all about da money..It always has been....If you mean traditional marriage of a man and a woman, ancient laws and customs consider women to be worthless and the need of a dowry was paid for a man to take a woman into marriage...this custom continued to the 20th century..
If you mean that marriage is a contract between two people, that also applies since before women were emancipated (there is that paternal control again) They had no way of supporting themselves and could sue a man for breaking an engagement....
Traditional marriage in certain parts of the world do not just have one man and one woman..So there is a lot of ignorance when people cliam that Christian styled ideology about marriage is universal...Shows you how closed minded and self centered they are...

To Moonglow: There was no organized religion, or priests, in the Garden of Eden!
Oh yeah it's all about da money..It always has been....
To Moonglow: So is homosexual marriage.
If you mean traditional marriage of a man and a woman, ancient laws and customs consider women to be worthless and the need of a dowry was paid for a man to take a woman into marriage...this custom continued to the 20th century..
To Moonglow: For all of its flaws —— marriage between men and women gave women their first Right(s).

Incidentally, laws against bigamy protect a woman’s Rights far more than they protect men.

If you mean that marriage is a contract between two people, that also applies since before women were emancipated (there is that paternal control again) They had no way of supporting themselves and could sue a man for breaking an engagement....
To Moonglow: Financial support and real property have no meaning to the vast majority, yet they remain married.

You might ask yourself if women have more property Rights in non-Christian countries or in Christian countries?

As to homosexual marriages, I said this in the thread I referenced:

My objection to homosexuals marrying lies in making such unions equal to heterosexual marriages. As near as I can determine, a partnership contract, wills, living wills, and so on gives homosexuals everything heterosexuals have except Social Security benefits.
Traditional marriage in certain parts of the world do not just have one man and one woman..So there is a lot of ignorance when people cliam that Christian styled ideology about marriage is universal
To Moonglow: Fools make that claim, and it is far from universal.
Shows you how closed minded and self centered they are...
To Moonglow: Note that Mormonism is a Christian sect.
