A hallmark of the inside the beltway, cronyism style of government is the protection and promotion of incompetent political hacks within its own ranks. (2) An independent review board reported that the murders at Benghazi on September 11, 2012, were the result of “systemic failures and leadership and management deficiencies” at the State Department. But of course, “…the Board did not find that any individual U.S. Government employee engaged in misconduct or willfully ignored his or her responsibilities.” The fix was in even before the State Department announced, the very next day, that Secretary Clinton had accepted the resignation of Assistant Secretary of State Eric Boswell.

New York Post

The Post’s Josh Margolin reported this week that four State Department officials involved in the Benghazi affair were never removed from their positions, are still on the payroll and will resume their jobs in the near future. They were never held accountable for contributing to the murder of four Americans at the hands of al Qaeda sponsored terrorists. In fact, even Assistant Secretary of State Boswell didn’t really resign. His title was simply changed and he moved to new desk. Deputy Assistant Secretaries Charlene Lamb and Raymond Maxwell will stay at their position as well. Despite gross incompetence they will not be held accountable for a thing.

The Independent review board led by retired Ambassador Thomas Pickering had to know in advance that no one in the State Department would be held accountable. These are D.C. insiders protecting their own.

Where’s Hillary?
