pres. bush should make this a republican priority to get these damn things down..
No they are not.. Why do we keep paying so much for teacher's salaries and benefits? (1260 hr avg work year vs 2080 hrs for most other working people) Police officers and paid fireman make how much a year????? How many years do they HAVE to work to lock in a retirement??? At what age are these public servants getting out on full retirement??? What was I thinking when I got a degree and started working in a factory???
((Who is going to pay for the retirement of your city employees when all of the F'n private jobs are being rammed into a damn plane and sent to CHINA????)))
Americans love to spend other people's money and then bitch about the taxes... If Americans truly didn't want to pay taxes then they would find out who their ELECTED officials are and chew them a new Ahole for the manner in which they piss tax dollars away.
People who don't want to go broke with property taxes have to be realistic in what they expect for services from ther government. They can't have it both ways. Low taxes and high services.
For a goof.. Go to school, or to work, or when you are out at a club... Ask ten people at random to name their town/city's mayor (first selectman),,,, then ask them who their state house members are, or to name their state senate member. It helps to know the answer before you ask the question. You would be very suprised as to how many correct answers you will get.
Politicians know the answer, they bank on it. Proof? Look how many ineffective people get re-elected. People don't care. The average "citizen" knows more about Barry Bonds' homerun records, or who won Survival, or what pop star is banging who on the big screen this week. But,, know who is spending their tax dollars?? Let alone on what.. It is beneath the average American citizen to know the issues..
The new scam in some New England states is to demand more state funding for local expenses, under the guise of property tax relief... Sure, go get the vines of death intermingled with your town's autonomous board of education.. See what you can do at that point, and what you can no longer decide on localy. Take more money from the state?? Sure,, now do what we tell you to do with it!!!!... Either way, you pay more. Whether it comes from the right pocket in the form of property tax,,, or your left in the form of State Income tax,,,or State surcharge on tires, state mandated tax on cellular service, etc..(( HOW MUCH OF YOUR CELL BILL IS TAXES?? WHY???))... You still pay.. Anyone can piss money away.. It takes brains and courage to say NO, mean it, and fight for it.
mine went up $100/year, and i haven't even lived here a year. fuckers.
i know who my mayor is, Bjorn Skogquist. He was 19 when he was first elected, and i think he's now about 25. But we don't pay city taxes. We only pay county taxes, so our mayor has nothing to do with it. Bjorn is doing a great job.
Is this how Republicans stick it to the middle man?
