01 ~ 04 was the big push in the new war. Deficit grew due to military spending
In 05 the war zone was basically stabilized and the spending was decreasing all the way through 07.
Those numbers you see for 08 are directly related to the bailouts that were requested by the democrats and obama. And it just get worse.
Now granted this is an older projection and as we now know the projected numbers for the obama administration were light.
So the question is, what kind of trouble are we really in for come 2013 when the down turn is supposed to come back with a vengeance?

Edit: In all fairness, the deficit under Bush did go down from 2004-2006 but more than quadrupled in his last three years and that since 2007 its been a downward spiral, proof that what Bush started Obama inherited.

There is no question that repubs have been big government and have run up debt.

Notice what happens to the projections when obamacare swings in full force. those projections show what I said earlier, obamas damage is lasting.
Now, lets imagine that obama is no longer president come 2013, that deficit created by the lefts obamacare mishap is going to be directly blamed on the person that holds the office at that time. I will not be possible to point to the democrats and blame them. So what happens?
The dems will use that high deficit as fodder for the elections, they will take back the office and then start blaming the previous president for what they inherit, even though what they inherit is a failure by their own doing.

AS I said countless times before, there is no difference between parties as far as the growth of government is concerned.

There are some differences, of course.

But none of those differences has to do with the size of government or the propensity to make central government less powerful and intrustive.

Mostly the differences seems to be how money is spent and which Insiders' team gets to profit from the spending.
