however lets look at this.
1.8 trillion was directly related to the wars. Stop the wars and the expense stops.
1.6 they claim was added because of the tax breaks. if this is true, then the liberals honestly look at every penny you own as belonging to the government. A tax break isn't giving something to someone, its just not taking as much.
608 billion in discretionary spending, not too bad when you consider that much of that was spend during the last two years under a democratic congress.

the big one is the health care, this is a huge bill that cannot stop once started and will continue to grow larger every year.

when you look at the chart between obama and President Bush, you also see that the left is now using the bailout as ammunition against President Bush, yet when that was being considered, President Bush was not moving to do it very quickly, the left at the time was crying because of all the jobs that would be lost because President Bush wouldn't save the auto industry, obama even stepped in and asked Bush to sign it before he took office because it was needed. So President Bush signed it. Now? according the the left, (now that they got what the wanted) it was a bad thing and the numbers are used to try and make it look like President Bush outspent obama. The reality is that due to the Health Care bill and what it will cost the American public for the rest of this countries existence, it is going to be hard for any President to spend less than obama.

One more thing to consider, when looking at the cost to a presidency of the discretionary spending, consider that fixed costs like social services come out of that fund. so in reality, it is another leftist program that all presidents are taking a hit for. Its also one of the first places I would hit with budget cuts.

I don't believe anyone denies Bush spent - we were at war you know, however progressives make Bush look like a penny pincher.

Take a look at the national debt under Bush, then take a look at it now..

Somehow democrats since Bush managed to almost quadruple our debt..

Furthermore, all Obama did was give his cronies in the states money to payoff the loyal liberal UNION base.

I know Illinois used their stimulus money to bailout their public sector union employees - more specifically the communist teachers.

Also look at the amount of lowered personal taxes and the lowered corporate taxes, that not government spending is why we're running a deficit, those who think Obama is a far left Socialist in on crack.

Bill Clinton (democrat) expanded on Jimmy Carters (democrat) by telling banks that they needed to find "creative" ways to loan mortgagees to the poor or face large penalties. So the banks had to come up with things like No Doc Loans, they had to move the markers for debt ratio, they had to get creative with low payments and then a big balloon payment later. (let poor people buy a home, then sell a few years later for profit) and many other schemes that were destined to fail.
and when they did fail during the Bush administration, it was all the fault of President Bush. Not the democrats that created it.
Why does the left not put any blame on obama for any failures like they did President Bush. this is the obama administration, these are his problems and his fault. He has had ample time to correct the problems but has proven to be lacking in the skills required to do so.

Next question.
How do you consider not taking someones money that they earned, a loss to the budget? its almost as if you think that all money belongs to the government. Not the case in our way of life.
Could an equal amount of money be gained by the government by maybe lowering what I call the free ride cap? that would be the limit that you can make as a family before owing any tax.

When states like Maryland run into budget problems, the first thing they do is to start cutting jobs. real jobs. Teachers, Fire fighters, EMTs etc... They cut road funding and they cut back on library hours etc...
but lets look at the firings.
Pretend for a moment that you own a company and you have to find a way to reduce your expense or go out of business. So you have to fire someone, do you fire the guy that does the work? or do you fire the guy that might show up, does nothing but takes his check each week.
Looking at the state cuts in the same way, why would they fire a teacher, or a police officer before they fire a welfare recipient? It seems to me that the teacher has more to offer and more to lose.
