Proof that Democrats want to use the tax code as a weapon to control the masses

You can keep trying butt no one can convince me taking more of my money is good for me.

How do you know a flat tax would take more? Also it would be a tax you could actually formulate into your budget making it easier to make future plans.

There has yet to be a proposal by anyone that shows a flat tax that doesn't raise rates for the bottom 50% or 2/3 of tax payers. This is also common sense, as the top earners pay a larger share now, due to their larger incomes, and if you want the same total tax but spread evenly around, then the lower earners must pay more.

No they don't.

Watch the second video and come back again....

The moderator in that video is wrong.

Check out Figure 5. If you want, read the write up too. It talks about how capital gains were growing the late 90s faster than GDP. We all know this, since there was a bubble. After the bubble, things were back to normal, Bush cut the rate and revenue went down.

It's hard to argue against history my friend.

Im on my phone I cant look up pdf's. Ill have to rely on someone else checking it out and sharing their opinion on its accuracy.

I was just speaking in generalities, i dont have an opinion on a flat tax...

If it took less of my income id be all for it.

The real problem is success in this country is penalized, while failure is rewarded.

Thats no way to run a rodeo.

I understand where you're coming from. But many of the people losing out in the economy aren't failures. Many of these people are working Americans. Last year, working Americans hit a record low as far as their piece of the economy and this has been a trend that has been going on for at least four decades.
There are people taking all the rewards of success in this economy while enhancing a poor economy for a larger segment of workers who work also contributed to the success.

Thats the whole point. Everyone contributes to the welfare of our country.

What could possibly be wrong with that ideal besides the left losing their tax code as a weapon?

Taxing someone who makes $100K a year at 20% is very different from taxing someone who makes $20K a year at 20%. One could still provide for their family. The other, doubtful.

And I should add, that's before payroll taxes, so take another 6.2% out of each salary. You're now talking about taxing someone who makes $20K a total of 26.2%, and that's before anything at the state level.

So why not consider Flat Tax brackets? Similar to what we have now but far less complicated?

I'm actually completely fine with that. Get rid of every loophole and deduction and just have flat amounts per bracket. Nice and simple. The problem is, the GOP have already stated that is the same as raising taxes, and they won't vote for it.

Its called crony capitalism, supported by democratic socialism,

and it equals fascism.

We had a contract, it was called the constitution.

The contract was abrogated by the oligarchy for their own benefit.

Yes, i understand what happened, what they dont understand is

what that is going to get them.

And ps on your no lables group, just another name for progressive,

which is just another name for liberal,

so, ya'll are not fooling me.

Have a nice day, butt, im still rooting for the night.

Which gopers have said they would vote against that?

the lying, hypocritical, anti American, faggot's on the left do not understand that higher taxes hurt the middle class more than the rich!!

Actually, it's called plutocracy, which is the next step after capitalism. When capitalism worked the way it was supposed to work, we had a strong thriving Middle Class that drove the economy via their spending. But now that Middle Class isn't thriving economically and thusly, neither is our capitalistic economy.
Regarding No Lables,,it's made up of conservatives and liberals who think that sitting down and solving problems together is the right way to go. If that's progressive, then every successful corporate decision-making structure is progressive. Successful companies and individuals listen to all ideas and then make their decisions on what would work best in a specific situation. This practice is foreign to those in Washington, who think their specific ideological ideas are the only ones that will work. Successful businesses uses many ideas, our "leaders" in Washington just can't seem to grasp the tools of proven success. I'm referring to the extremes in both parties in particular.

Wrong answer, you are working on being put on ignore,

i dont have time for propagandists.

Im not here to debate, like Obama said, the time for that is over.

While the republicans would throw me in jail for possession of a plant God put on this earth.

Sorry, not buying its just the Democrats who screwed the pooch of freedom and opportunity.

I really thought this thread would spark a good debate about how taxes are implimented in this country. Guess I dont know you guys as well as I thought.

In all fairness its spending thats out of control, they dont tax enough to cover the budget as it is, no matter how they do it.

I'm not here to debate you, I just used good ole' American economic history ala Econ 101.
Secondly, do you actually think that successful companies stay on one page all the time, even in our ever changing world?
If you want to put me on "ignore", be my guest. I'm using common sense driven by facts, if that's something to put someome on "ignore", well I guess you'd better do it then.

You took "economics history" 101?

i took economic courses up to 400 levels and no one ever called them:

Economics "history" courses,

so welcome to ignore.

No lables, right, you liberals cant change the language enough to hide your true colours.

Ca va? Way, ca va bien.
