We have made promises we can not keep. Social security and Medicare must be slashed immediately and a new system put into place.
Otherwise look forward to our kids living in poverty paying for allof it.

Giving into a governement controlled retirement plan for 45 years at zero percent return isn't a good deal?

How about we say that we've made military promises around the world that we can't keep, and we start by slashing them,

putting a good deal of that money to work on our domestic problems, and see how big our problems remain after that?

Why not start at home.
Try closing a military base near you and watch BOTH Democrats and Republicans in your district FIGHT LIKE hell to keep it open.
But the subject is not the military.

Sounds good to me. Bring our troops from wars and conflicts we shouldnt be involved in.

However, we could eliminate the entire military budget, and we still wouldnt be denting our spending problem until we fix the entitlement programs (And the root of the problem, the entitlement mentality). You have to be willing to address the real cause of our spending problem.

And what a disapointment Obama's speech was today.
Spending has always been the problem and he is babbling about the rich this and that once again.
Instead of leading the country he is in campaign mode. Makes me want to puke.
