It sounds great: A big jobs bill that would hand President Barack Obama a badly needed victory and please Republicans with tax cuts at the same time. But there's a problem: It won't actually create many jobs.

Most Republicans like tax cuts of any kind....but these particular tax cuts are NOT going to create the number of jobs needed....hence it is nothing more than a paper tiger jobs bill...

Why can't Obama produce some REAL tax cuts to encourage REAL job growth....like JFK did?

That's a laugh....with all the SPENDING going on by Obama this year we won't be a "viable govt." for much longer either.....and with no job growth there will be LESS and LESS revenue to pay for that spending...in other words his govt spending (& subsequent taxing) will eat us alive...

Cut taxes big time and slash govt. spending to the bone.... then stand back and watch Americans take over and solve the problem....

That tax credit for hiring new workers was tried during the Carter administration. It failed. Business's were firing people one day and hiring them back the next in order to get the credit. This is nothing more than Stimulus 2, the first one didn't work, if they would have taken the time to read it before they voted on it, they would have seen that it was not going to work. It's a TOTAL FAILURE.

I do like the extension of tax breaks on business but that's about it. They certainly can't afford a tax hike right now.

If there is no demand for products and services from business there is no reason to hire. The Harvard elitist as smart as he is supposed to be, doesn't get this. He still does not have ONE person in his adminstration that comes from the PRIVATE SECTOR.

Interesting....Obama seems like the peanut farmer in many ways....

Tax credits don't create jobs.....profits do....

Obama needs to stop targeting the rich.....those people who actually invest and create JOBS...all he is doing is creating class warfare....another tactic from his commie bag of tricks....

Eliminate the capital gains tax and the growth will be astronomical
Skip generation trusts will be obsolete.
For the uninformed masses: Capital is RETAINED, not utilized, because of capital gains taxes.
Eliminate it and the capital in the market for growth will triple in a year.

Right...just eliminating (or even lowering) that ONE tax would produce amazing results....

....let alone lowering the corporate tax rate from its high of 39%.....the average corporate rate worldwide is only about 25%...the US leads the world in high corporate tax rates...
