Problem with using emotion and fear

To push gun control is that fear cuts both ways. People who are afraid will be just as likely to use that fear as motivation to arm themselves because they realize government can’t take care of the problem.

After all what’s more rational?

1)doing nothing and expecting government to fix the problem

2) arming and training to defend yourself

Which one is passive and which is active?

I have a problem distilling a consistent opinion out of your OP. Are you bemoaning people getting guns out of fear and emotion.Or are you bemoaning the emotion of this shooting leading to gun control?
