Many departments of the government are running out of money.

Including the courts.

The federal courts only have enough money to continue until February. Then they also shutdown. TSA and ICE will run out of money soon. Along with other important organizations that need to be funded and kept open.

The very possible end to this shutdown is that mcconell won't want to lose his seat in the Senate. He's up for reelection in 2020. Along with a lot of republicans. They all know that the majority of the people don't want this wall. They know that the majority of the people blame all this on trump and the republicans. All those republicans who are up for reelection are going to want to get the government open so they can keep their jobs. Or at least try to keep their jobs.

It's very possible that the congress will pass legislation without any money for the wall. They will send it to trump. He has 10 days to sign it. If he doesn't sign it, it becomes law. Or he can veto it. It will go back to congress. The congress will override his veto.

The government reopens.

trump and his supporters can save face by saying he voted it. Then spend the next 2 years lying about the whole thing to blame it all on democrats.

Closing down government, placing government offices in extreme stress once they do reopen (if ever), placing excessive stress on government employees, putting government functions at risk, etc.; this is exactly what Putin was counting on Trump to do, for Putin. Destroy Amerikkka.

Get it on with it Donny.

No biggie. We still have the military, which we're going to witness once that next caravan hits the border.

I have seen polls that say most people want the wall and i have seen them say the opposite.
You dont have a clue what americans want.

Dont hold your breath...Until President Trump gets his funding for the wall, he isnt going to cave to the Democrats like Ronald Reagan did with Tip O'neil. Fool US once shame on you, fool US twice shame on US. Go fuck yourself you traitorous commie you, you want to live with the Latino's , move down south, and live your dream of a 3rd world country, just leave your passport at the new wall on your way out..

It sure does seem that's what's happening.

Some best possible outcomes of the shutdown

At the end of 30 days, the president through OMB could call for a “reduction in force” to remove 350,000 nonessential federal employees.

Most of my career colleagues actively work against the president’s agenda,” the official wrote. “This means I typically spend about 15 percent of my time on the president’s agenda and 85 percent of my time trying to stop sabotage, and we have no power to get rid of them. Until the shutdown.”

President Trump can end this abuse,” the official continued. “Senior officials can re-prioritize during an extended shutdown, focus on valuable results and weed out the saboteurs. We do not want most employees to return, because we are working better without them.”

The laid-off workers would scream, they would cry, they would certainly sue. And they might even prevail in the lower courts. But the Supreme Court would have the last word. How do you suppose that will go?

The simple fact remains that Trump is president. He runs the executive branch. He gets to make policy. He can be checked by Congress and the courts, but he has certain constitutional prerogatives — prerogatives that his predecessors exercised without issue — that don’t go away just because his name is “Trump.”

If anyone needs them, I have quite a few cardboard boxes I'd be willing to donate, just to help them get packed and on their way.

Seriously did you read my post?

Do you know how our government works?

When both the House of Reps and the Senate pass a bill it goes to the president's desk for his signature. He has 10 days to sign it or veto it. If he does nothing, it automatically becomes law.

If he vetos it, it can go back to the congress for a vote to override that veto.

That legislation doesn't need trump to sign it to become law.

All it needs is for republicans to vote for it and to vote to override the veto. All that needs is for republicans to want to keep their Senate seats and majority in the Senate.

Who do you think republicans in the Senate would choose?

trump?

Or themselves?

How many times are you sheep going to parrot this RIF bullshit.

https://www.fsa.usda.gov/Internet/FSA_File/art21.pdf

21.6 Emergency Furlough: A furlough because of lack of appropriations or lack of work due to unpredictable events such as natural disasters, fires, etc.

21.7 Furlough: The placement of an employee in temporary non-duty and non-pay status for not more than 30 consecutive days or 22 nonconsecutive work days during the twelve (12) month period beginning the day after the effective date of the furlough. For furloughs of more than 30 consecutive days or more than 22 nonconsecutive work days see Article 20 (RIF) of this Agreement.

Thanks to the Government Employee Fair Treatment Act 0f 2019, government employees are in a pay deferred status, not a non-pay status.

Kentucky ranks second in states most dependent on the federal government for their state budgets.

That's a lot of people on public assistance, farm subsidies and federal government jobs.

McConnell is up for reelection in 2020.

He wants to keep his seat in the Senate and he wants to keep his job as the Senate Majority Leader.

It seems to me most people DO want the wall, but how do know for sure? The media lies daily and Trump almost as much.

McConnel is on board with The President's agenda. He came around and they need to stick together through Trump's 2020 re-election. They won't cave, and the pressure is all on Pelosi and Schummer.

Why are Democrats still dependent on illegally importing Brown People to work on their plantations?
